Oregon
Re: Oregon
DId they really let #2 play the whole first quarter, then randomly send him off on a 3rd down and penalize him when he didn’t comply? That is F’ing nuts. I have never seen that in my football watching life

Granted, it was weird, but when a ref tells you to get off the field -- you don't argue. Do what you're told and let your coaches handle it.2006Grad wrote:DId they really let #2 play the whole first quarter, then randomly send him off on a 3rd down and penalize him when he didn’t comply? In the long run, it won't matter. I thought BG would likely lose by between 30-40 points tonight, and I haven't seen anything to make me change my mind.

Re: Oregon
Getting pushed around up front now on both sides of the ball, which is what we expected. Hope they can keep it at least competitive.

I would love to eat crow but it's a long game.gmartin wrote:kdog27 wrote:10 zip.
Yeah that coke is working pretty good kdog27.
Remember I was the only one who picked BG to win. 35-31.

Hate to see Oregon turn it on like this, but I see some reason for encouragement overall. We will be able to score on anyone.jpfalcon09 wrote:Offense will be one of the best in the MAC this year. Same coverage issues so far on D but winning the first quarter against a ranked team on the road is a good building block.
Re: Oregon
Would agree @falconwriter but for example if a person lost a helmet and had to leave the refs announce it and stop play. To randomly throw out a “hey leave the field” between 2nd and 3rd down May have thrown him off? IDK

The wheels on the bus have fallen off... fallen off.
Those who can't do, teach. Those who can't teach, teach PE.
Re: Oregon
People giving up on this team after one half against a ranked team... probably never cared about this team in the first place.
Guys, this might shock you, but we weren't supposed to win this game. The spread in Vegas was north of 30 points.
Yes, this sucks. But yes, we're improved.

I understand the frustration. We all want to win.
But instead of bashing our student athletes (18-23 year olds) how about we just support the hell out of them? Win or lose, they're all we've got.

My only major complaint is not fair catching, taking a knee on kick offs. We can start every drive from the 25 if we just do that, and yet we see intent on trying a return. Terrible decision making

Game went about as expected. D will get a lot of film to use to correct mistakes. First quarter was fun.
