Halftime thoughts...
- That second TD was beautiful!
- Defense is night and day better than last year and yet there is still room for major improvement. I've seen missed tackles on both the MD scoring drives
- MD is it's own worst enemy on offense. Defense has played well but owes a thanks to MD mistakes for only surrendering 10
- Our running game isn't going anywhere but we need to keep doing it
- Doege is impressive. And receivers have looked better than anytime since 2015
- MD with the running game and shifts is going to wear down our defense. So our offense has to keep scoring
- That kick out of bounds hurt. If MD didn't start that final drive at their own 35, they would probably have 3 fewer points
- Halftime lead and start the second half with the ball? I like it

We must have the worst 3rd/4th long defense in history over the past few years.

I was afraid all game for the time when that MD run game gets clicking on all cylinders and we give up chunk yards. And there's your result - a tired defense missing tackles. We have to make it a shootout now because the defense is exhausted.

Starting to rain a little bit more heavier now here. I just looked at the stats and Maryland has 325 yards rushing. To me it appears the right side of the defensive line is very weak. Our run defense is not very good but the right side appears to be a little worse.

Well I just got back to my car. Besides the poor 2nd half performance I wanted to add a few thoughts. Concessions have actually gotten WORSE. Do not like the student section moved. Do not like the band moved from the end zone. And the advertising tarps over the seating section where the band once was looks stupid. People need to be held accountable for all those dumb changes. I attended the Bowling Green Otsego game last night and the on-field product was better. Concessions better. Yes this team is slightly improved. Unfortunately I don't see you much more than four wins.

Was at the game (left because girlfriend was understandably too cold and wet to continue), and I'm encouraged overall by our performance.

We need to fix the run defense. That's about all I can say.

This is sad.

...at least we're not celebrating wildly for having an interception fall into our hands with a 24 point lead. Right? Right?!?

Not encouraged one bit. Our defense hussles more but that's about it. Can't tackle. Offensive line can't block or protect. Will be watching more Northwestern football although they too will struggle this year.
