Re: Miami
This game is over. Offense can't move the ball and the defense is the same old story. I honestly don't see them winning a conference game this season. Even Kent has improved enough to win a few MAC games. Program is at rock bottom.

Near halftime, down by three possessions to a winless team that had yet to hit 100 rushing yards in a game or score and offensive TD in previous 2. Miami up to nearly 200 yards rushing in the first half. Tell me again about how close to successful our defense is.

From ridiculous to sublime. Should we drop down to FCS or continue down to div II? I can’t see a recovery from this.

Hey gmartin, I appreciate you calling me out. Haha
I left early, basically right at halftime. I'm very disappointed in the lack of improvement. I guess as a 20 year old kid, I'm naive to trust people and have too much faith in coaches.
I don't really have a take on the game. We don't tackle on defense, and I don't understand some of our play calling and decision making offensively.
The tackling issue still feels like it's something that would be simple to fix - it's our philosophy that's poor. It looks to me like every time we try to make a tackle, we're trying to force a turnover instead of wrapping up. If we would just try to make the simple play instead of the big play, we would probably see a decent improvement. Unfortunately, I don't know if we are going to be able to make that fix in time to salvage the year.
I don't know if we'll win another game. Kent State is winnable, but far from a guarantee. Rivalry games, you can kinda throw out each team's record, so the Toledo game could be interesting, but it's not a game I would expect to win. Other than that... I don't really know. I've pretty much completely lost my optimism about this year's team. And that really sucks, because I love this university and all of the teams here. Just hard to kinda feel apathetic towards something you used to care so much about, ya know?

I was 20 once too. And naive, goes with the territory. However we had Coach Brandon then. Say what you will about Gregg Brandon. That guy could win. He won a lot of games and made some fun teams. I feel bad for all the students right now. Only the seniors have ever seen a good BG football team.

Well, I give up. <———— what every BG player has said in this game.
Wow, this is pathetic.

Re: Miami
I'm a college junior now. I've been following the teams here since I was young, as I'm a son of two "Falcon Flames." I was lucky enough to get my dad to take me to Detroit in 2015 for the MAC championship game. That was probably the last time I was legitimately proud of this program.
The last time we beat Toledo, I was in 6th grade. That's a horrifying thought, but that's reality. I hope we are able to recover from this tough era, but it's going to take some time, as we've fallen pretty far.

Re: Miami
Facts -
The 2015 MAC Championship game was the last BG football game I’ve seen in person. Last trip to the Doyt was a few weeks earlier when we faced Toledo. I more or less have boycotted the program ever since the 70-point defeat at Memphis early in 2016.
I was one of the biggest Falcon fanatics that you would find anywhere from 2005-2015. I went to every home game and hit a bunch of the road games when possible. I breathed and bled orange and brown. I was proud to be a Falcon. We had our ups and downs before finally reaching the top of the mountain but one thing never changed, I was proud to be a Falcon and support my university every time out.
Now, 2015 seems like a lifetime ago. It’s to the point where it’s actually stunning that I never gave any thought whatsoever into going to today’s game, and didn’t even check the score until now. This is BG vs Miami for Christ sake, one of the 2 biggest games of the entire year. But all I can say is, thank God I no longer care.
Thank you Mike Jinks for destroying my love of BG football so completely that it went from being my number one passion on fall Saturday’s (and November weeknights) to being so much of an afterthought that I don’t even think about it for fear of complete and utter embarrassment in my university. You are a complete and utter failure who has brought humiliation to my beloved Bowling Green. If I were a rich donor or benefactor, you would be gone tomorrow. Get the hell away from my university!!
