Re: Enough
#TalonsUp If anyone ever hires Chris Kingston or any of his crew to be an athletic director, be sure to view this. They still think they are doing a good job.
Re: Enough
Just shows you the great job our athletic department is doing! Other changes than a new head football coach needs to be happen. If were going to keep Moose, which I'm sure we are, it's time to shake up some other staff and breath some life into that department. Obviously what their doing is not working. I'd start with associates on down, especially if Kingston brought them in.Siborg wrote:I just saw this on ESPN's website. Fan Happiness Index. Check out who's last.

BGSU SID (Mr. Knavel):
Is the athletic department staff members going to look at and address this list, or are they just going to continue to tweet weekly about how great of a job the department is doing?
Re: Enough
They should rename these rankings the Chris Kingston Factor.......presented by Learfield for all you athletic directors that need a career bailout.
Re: Enough
I hope the AD sees this. That's a pretty strong message if I've ever seen one.jpfalcon09 wrote:If that doesn't spell it out, I don't know what else will. How embarrassing.Siborg wrote:I just saw this on ESPN's website. Fan Happiness Index. Check out who's last.

Re: Enough
The real question is if anyone really cares. This department has been under performing for a couple years now. I’m sure some of them were even involved in the hiring of some notable coaches like Jinks, the swim coach and even Jans (although I’m one of the few defenders of him). I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to add Huger to that list after this year also. I understand that our athletic department is the least funded department in the MAC, but I’m positive there are bright and creative individuals out there that can take a lemon and make lemonade. Go find some of them and replace the dead weight.
Instead we have a department who’s employees are more focused on touting their achievements on Twitter rather than ensuring the future success of the athletic department. That department reeks of cluelessness and ineptitude. We scored a 0, again a 0, in that index. Every other school on that list had some sort of score. We got a 0 out of 100!! And that’s not done by some rag tag website, it’s done by ESPN, one of the biggest, if not the biggest, sports media platform out there.
Hell, the university even has a Sports Management program. Send some of the athletic department employees over to refresh on a couple of classes. They obviously need it.
Something is obviously wrong with this department, and instead of laying blame to past athletic directors or their budget, Moose and Mr. Rodgers need to address where their at now and fix it. But again, does anyone really care? Because it doesn’t seem like it.

Re: Enough
And what does it say about the ability of this head coach and staff (all of whom he is responsible for hiring) to TEACH AND DEVELOP players? With mid majors, it's not necessarily the recruiting that makes a program...it is the ability of the coach to find talent that can be developed to win.Flipper wrote:We aren't competitive against decent MAC teams...our most competitive games the past couple of years have been with FCS schools...,what does that say about our talent level?
The bottom line is always the bottom line with coaches, and when all is said and done, Coach Jinks will go down in infamy for having had three of the worst win-loss records in the history of BGSU football.
That says all you need to know. He can make all the excuses in the universe, but at the end of the day, he has to own his failures -- because they are his and his alone.

Just a friendly reminder that Jinks has a bonus clause in his contract where he earns $25K for playing an opponent who plays BG $400K or more in guarantees. I've never heard of such a ridiculous thing.

That shows you just how much Kingston knew about the damage Babers had done to the program. I would have signed that contract in record time......jpfalcon09 wrote:Just a friendly reminder that Jinks has a bonus clause in his contract where he earns $25K for playing an opponent who plays BG $400K or more in guarantees. Are you suggesting that Kingston was desperate to make a hire because nobody would want to coach at BG? No. No. Just no.It's the Journey... wrote:That shows you just how much Kingston knew about the damage Babers had done to the program. Kingston hired Jinks in less than a week. This was not a desperation hire. This was an instant decision. Kingston knew what direction he was going in before the job opened. He said as much.
I can understand that kind of clause st Kent State where the job was open for a month. But no. Not the case here.

Eff Kingston. He's the biggest culprit in all this mess.
