If Jinks was fired today, I would be rooting like hell for BG this weekend and the rest of the season once that press conference ended.mcfalcons83 wrote:I am as disappointed as anyone with the past three seasons and yes it doesn’t look good for Coach Jinks but some of your posts are absolutely out there. Can we at least root for the team how can you say you’d rather get beat by your rival no matter how bad the coaches might be. With fans like that we don’t need any enemies

Of course. I really want the Falcons to win Saturday. We need to start beating the Rockets. This has gone on long enough.mcfalcons83 wrote:Can we at least root for the team
But would I bet on a BG win? No.

Re: @ Toledo (10/6)
As much as the idea of losing to them again turns my stomach, anything that accelerates a change in direction of this program is a lesser of two evils at this point. A crazy fluke win in this game could only serve to delay the inevitable and I just can't see it as a springboard to righting the ship and moving this team back toward being a contender. Of course, talking about what the effects of a win this week would mean is a moot point, anyway.

Re: @ Toledo (10/6)
Even if BG had a competitive team, the recent history between the two programs would leave me leery of picking the Falcons. I think we all felt good about 2013 and 2015 only to see more of the same.

Re: @ Toledo (10/6)
So I have to relay a funny story from back in my undergrad days. My final year around this time 10 years ago, I was prepping for grad school. I had to take a GRE and naturally put off studying for the last week. But I did study some.
At the time BGSU did not have a test site. But who did? That dump off Bancroft or whatever that road in the hood is called.
So I left work early (interned in Findlay at the time) and drove up there. If course I wore a BG polo and hat, walking into enemy territory. The test was in an academic building with a secretary checking everyone in. And I got some funny looks, wearing my school colors.
I took the test and submitted it. And was blown away. Each section is scored out of 800. Verbal: something around 700. Math: 800.
So on my way out, the secretary told me she asked me if I could informally volunteer my final, just out of curiosity. I said sure, gave the scores. And she gasped. "800 on the math? I've never heard of a perfect score on any section".
My response: "that is because I am from Bowling Green."
And for some more math. A few weeks later: BG 38, UT 10

Three and out, then a blocked punt. Can't script it better than that.

Has anyone checked the Kingston contract to see if either Jinks gets and additional 20K for losing to the rival, or and additional 15K for having 5 punts blocked in a season?

This game is already over and we're six minutes in.

At least those chubby cheerleaders at Toledo will get in shape for all the pushups they are going to do today after scoring points. If they put up 70 on us that's over 400 pushups. So that's one good thing.

Penalty on a nice return, then a fumble. What an abomination.

And the hits keep coming. Guess who isn't ready to play again?
