We played so well in the third. Did not make very many mistakes and capitalized on their turnovers and marginal goaltending. Bednard was brick wall in net. Great win!

Huge win. On to the next one. Beat Robert Morris on Friday and come into the home opener 3-0.

Let's keep it rolling.

Impressive win. Didn't get a chance to watch, and shots on goals don't tell everything but it sounds like Bednard played extremely well and the boys took advantage of their opportunities. Obviously it's still very early in the season but this could possibly be one of the better rosters BG has iced on quite some time.

Penalties will be a problem all season. With the NCAA rule changes and points of emphasis this season, officiating is going to be even more frustrating. The top teams will change their play to stay out of the box, while the lower teams will basically play with the mindset "they won't call everything." And, of course, the officials will keep the number of penalties close so it doesn't seem like they are favoring one team.

An interesting stat to follow this season will be how many hits the Craggs have reviewed during games. I didn't watch last night, but it seems any hit that looks violent and involves one of them is automatically a penalty, regardless of if it's legal or not (most have been legal).

This is one of the wins that has been missing the last couple of seasons. This stretch of hockey will decide how much room for error there is come late February (where we've lost a few previously and fell out of contention). Need to make sure the focus is on Bob Morris this week, and not the 3 games after.

Craggs gets an unfair whistle a lot of the time. I think that's fair to say. However, at some point, I feel like he has to realize that's the case and maybe pull up on some hits? I realize that's asking him a lot to change his aggressive game (which is incredibly fun to watch), but I feel like the team would be much better off with him on the ice instead of in the box, ya know?

There's the thing though, for as many penalty minutes as he racked up last season, I can't really recall any fans complaining about him being a "dirty" player (unlike UAH's Saulnier). He hits hard, and most of the time clean. 100 plus penalty minutes and wasn't subject to the league's supplemental disciplinary policy. That says a lot about his play. If the league thought his play was dirty, they would have used the "repeat offender" and sat him for a couple games. He had to sit one because of the game misconduct rule, but that wouldn't have happened if the current rule for video review was in place.

When he's on the ice, the other team knows he's coming and they have to make a quick decision with the puck. Quick decisions lead to turnovers.

Anyone hear anything about Baylis? He was taken out of the game last night and didn't return.
