One way to support Moose’s leadership

Post by bg1984 »

I felt like Bob made a big time leadership move by deciding to release Mike Jinks from his duties as head football coach. For anyone who watched the press conference it was clear this was a decision that took much thought and collaboration with others. It was also clear that he took no pleasure in making a very difficult personel dicision. In my humble opinion he displayed great leadership qualities and his primary motivation was doing what was best for the student athletes. Clearly a number of factors influenced this decision but he focused on the players. I thought it was professional and classy.

So today I sent an email to Bob, Kit, Dan and Cal pledging an increase to my Falcon Club giving in the 2019-2020 calendar year to the Leadership Circle Level. It was my way to tangibly applaud the decision Bob made with regard to the direction of the football program.

If you also believe that Bob made a great move here, My hope is that anyone who is not a Falcon Club member will consider joining and for those of you who are, you will consider increasing your donation and letting the athletic department know what motivated you to do so.

Everyone’s finiancial situation is unique but it seemed to me this was a way to support the decision that our AD made.

Ay Ziggy! BG football will be back!

I did something similar yesterday. I won't say how much I donated but here's how I see it. I haven't bought season tickets recently out of disgust over the direction of the program. That is money saved on tickets, airfare, car rental, gas, tailgating, and dinner in Bowling Green.
I took some of that money and gave it as a donation to the program I hold dear as thanks for this decision and to put my money where my mouth is.
If this description matches your situation these past few years, I strongly encourage you to follow suit. Besides, the folks in the athletic department love hearing from fans and alums.

I'm only a 20 year old college kid, but my hope is to one day be able to give back to this great place.

Do you have a car?

If so, you can give back as a student (Nah - I don't want your car). Purchase the BGSU license plate when you go to renew your registration next year. Costs an extra $35 BUT $25 of that comes back to the university general scholarship fund AND you're showing your Falcon Pride out and about the great state of Ohio and beyond.

A simple and easy way to give back without any pain.

I really wish the Alumni Association would put this in each mailing they send out.

Interesting! I wasn't aware of that. My dad has a BGSU license plate, but I didn't know that some of the money went to the university.

Good to know. I'll never say no to rocking the orange and brown.

I’ve had my BG plates for over 20 yrs. and you’re right. It’s relatively “painless “as it’s just treated as a vanity plate, but w/ BG benefitting. A small donation, but could add up when we think of all the Falcon alums in Ohio.

Same here...since 2004. Very easy to renew every year. I love seeing all the BG plates on the road.

I've also had a BG plate for the last eight years! Glad to give back in that way. $25 a year adds up!
