I know for certain the Frack money didn't go towards the buyout however other money set aside for Men's and Women's basketball and hockey may have went towards the buyout.jpfalcon09 wrote:Probably where the Frack money went this year if the hoops team is playing Findlay for the challenge game.FalconTurf wrote:If these boosters fund scholarships, coaching salaries, new facilities (weight room), or simply increase giving it will help the athletic department get past the buyout. MJ is better at coaching than our boosters are at boosting

Bingo. The Frack money was supposed to go towards elevating the program, but I bet it is going towards operating expenses this year to help fund this buyout...and the other one that will likely be needed in March...gmartin wrote:I know for certain the Frack money didn't go towards the buyout however other money set aside for Men's and Women's basketball and hockey may have went towards the buyout.jpfalcon09 wrote:Probably where the Frack money went this year if the hoops team is playing Findlay for the challenge game.FalconTurf wrote:If these boosters fund scholarships, coaching salaries, new facilities (weight room), or simply increase giving it will help the athletic department get past the buyout. I don't like the idea of replacing general funded money with the Frack dollars for basketball, either, but IF Huger ends up having to be replaced, helping to buy out his contract would be a valid use of that funding. If you're trying to elevate a program, one of the primary areas (I'd think) would be coaching.

If I was a booster and saw how Mr. Frack’s money has done NOTHING for our basketball Program i wouldn’t have any faith either!

Agreed. Saving the Frack dollars for a buyout may actually be the best use of them this year. If they DO buy Huger out at the end of the year, I'll retract some of my statements about how we've used that cash.Falconwriter wrote:I don't like the idea of replacing general funded money with the Frack dollars for basketball, either, but IF Huger ends up having to be replaced, helping to buy out his contract would be a valid use of that funding. For now it appears that we have done very little with MR. Frack's money to actually elevate the program. Instead it would appear they've gone to generally operating expenses, and not even utilizing all of our scholarships.
