Down to Ohio and Buffalo in the East, WMU and NIU in the West.

Pretty thorough beat down. Team played hard for about a quarter or so.

Did you forget Miami is 3-1 in the conference. And Miami has Ohio and Buffalo at home the next 2 weeks.

I just read through the early predictions on this game and was a bit surprised by the optimism. Yes, Jinks was a bad coach, but we got reminded to day just how awful this defense has become. Each year of the Jinks Era the defense got worse...a LOT worse. Even with the Pellini hire, there was no way to turn things around that fast.

The next head coach (who will not be Pellini) must be someone who can put together a good defense. It doesn't have to be great, but it needs to be good.

I would argue that this is still the hangover from “falconfast” where our “best defense is our offense.” I continue to gag when typing that.
Jinks was in no way the coach to reverse that aweful culture shift and Pellini wont be the one.

This is going to be yet another long rebuild. We had our opportunity for a stable and competitive program but the AD decided at that time there needed to be a new approach.

No amount of coaching is going to fix this. We need better players. I feel bad for the coaches who are in a no win situation

I forgot how good Ohio is running the ball. They made us look silly all day. The Bobcats have a much better ground game than Toledo or Western Michigan.

Defense lacks the size and speed of an FBS program. Ohio dominated the line of scrimmage all game long and basically did whatever they pleased. The bigger problem is what has become of the culture of the program. The kids today from the 2nd quarter on played as if they expected to lose. I'm sure the Jinks firing has some guys throwing in the towel, but you still need to play hard for the good of the program.

It'll be a long time until this program is competitive again. The next coach is going to have to recruit players worthy of an FBS program. We're basically back to where things were in 2010 with little sign of progress. It's a monumental task and will take the right fit to pull out of this mess.

I wish we were in a 2010 type situation...I was pretty optimistic in 2010 because I was convinced that Clawson was doing the job the right way and actually building a program. It might be a couple of years before we can say it's 2010 again.

The extent of the damage Kingston did to this program by going for the lightning in a bottle hire is ...in a very negative way...awe inspiring

As long as whoever comes in next is competent and qualified, he will have every opportunity here to build as Clawson did. Just must be a proven winner at the college level.

I think we win....41-37.
Soooo....that didn't work out too well. LOL! My goodness did we even play after the 1st quarter?

We just go back from the Kent/Akron game. OT...Akron up 24-23 and Kent muffs the snap on the extra point try and loses. We may beat these two but we very well could end up 1-11. No way do we stay close to Buffalo.

Really?? Are you serious?? You feel sorry for Mike Jinks friends that got boned a D1 Job from a glorified high school football coach? The same coaches that helped recruit this disaster of a roster? I don't feel one bit of sympathy for those coaches. Their terrible at their job.

I don't feel sorry for the assistant coaches either. That's life being a coach. Assistant coaches are on one-year contracts anyways. The players are the ones I feel sorry for. When they were recruited I bet they believe that they would play for a championship-caliber team. That's far from the truth. They could have went to another school and probably had a better chance at a championship. For the seniors, they would have been recruited by Babers, stayed and played for Jinks, and now Carl, and next year have another coach.
