Buffalo at #13 West Virginia BUFF 99, WVU 94 (OT) CJ Massinburg 43 Pts Lamont West 22 Pts

It looks like NIU also lost according to your scores listed.

Oops, thanks. Last time I checked their score they were leading late. My bad.

Its interesting reading the MACbbs comments about BGvStJohns. Only a few of them but all complimentary.

Thing is I'm not losing it that we lost so much as the way we played. Down the stretch we played garbage basketball. The same crap that we've watched for years. The same crap that will cost us MAC games as well as games against the big east. St John's did little to beat us. Instead we continually played garbage offense and acted like the ball was coated in butter.

Play well and lose and you'll get far less complaining. The way they played down the stretch was inexcusable from a vet team. It perfectly exemplified why they were picked last.

Watch the game, especially the last 14:00 and then you will see what several of us our complaining about. Most of you are reading the recaps, going by what the media puts out there. Watch the final 14:00 minutes and you should feel differently. Yes we lost to a Big East team by 4 points. We were winning by 11. Then we played like a Jr High team. Changed our offense. Committed stupid fouls. Unforced turnovers. Stop reading the recaps. Stop looking at the stats. Just watch the final 14:00 minutes of the game.

Shut the f*ck up dude. Watched the re run of the game this morning, BG didn’t look that bad at all. Offenses weren’t smooth for either team, and they shouldn’t be by Game 2. Anyone who has played organized basketball knows the beginning of the season is all about figuring out what works and what doesn’t.

Now I know why I stick to hockey threads, the pessimism in here is wild

Wow. Really. Dude. My name is Graham. Also in my thousands of posts I never once used profanity on this site and you did that within 25 posts. And for what it is worth I played intramural sports while attending BGSU as well as a club sport so I am well aware of organized sports and this team is far from organized. I will leave it at that and won't comment anymore. There is no need for your profanity anywhere on this site.

I watched the game and saw some good things to build on. We have some people on here that are never happy unless they are complaining. Let's hope we learn from the game and get ready for the MAC season.

The problem is that there were the same bad things that turned the game into a loss.

VCU, along with St John's are the preseason games we should be playing at home (Bill Frack Challenge) thus having a better chance of winning and generating local interest in the program.

BG is getting quite a bit of praise over on the DePaul message boards for their performance against SJU following up their scrimmage victory against DPU. I understand the frustrations that people have had, but am also pretty tired of people acting like the world is crashing down after losing by 4 to a Big East team that will likely be in tourney conversations this spring. We're two games in, and people outside of the program are recognizing that this is a solid, talented basketball team. If we have another game like Old Dominion last year, then I'm good with hearing about how the sky is falling, but until then...come on.

Re: Zete: I don't think we'll ever get a Big East team here without doing a 3-for-1 (maybe a 2-for-1 for DePaul or Butler), but I totally agree that a game like VCU should be happening at home annually.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.
