Obviously I was the only one watching this one. The rest of y'all save the time. Lost by 11 and wasn't nearly as close as that score. Down by 20 most of the half before VCU called off the dogs. Truly pathetic effort and stupid basketball. Thought we had a shot to set the NCAA record for turnovers but the announcers said that record is actually like 42. So I guess our 28 or so didn't give us a real shot at the record.

What I've seen through 4 games this year looks eerily similar to the last 15 years. I also don't think any of our newcomers can really play.

I heard the game as I'm not going to pony up the extra $$$ to get it on Direct TV.

27 turnovers will lose most games when it 16 or so more than the opponents.

I hate the thought of giving ESPN more money but I signed up for the ESPN+ trial. If this is how they're going to play on the Rd all year I will be cancelling it.

Fair enough. But obviously there is no in-season tournament that will give BG two home games against the Big East and A-10.

There are fair ways to knock the schedule, but a lot of it on here amounts to cheap shots.

Watching on replay I saw a score where we were down by 20 at one point....so here we go...

First 5 minutes
Wiggins looks better. Maybe he was hurt
Offense looks better
Uju is showing why he deserves minutes. I hope that he helps us dominate the boards

2nd 5 minutes
11-11 and we lose by 20?
Wiggins just let a guy shoot right in his face without even raising his arms.
I like that Laster went right at him as soon as he came in. I think that's important to put them on their heels.
Getting into foul trouble.
They are calling some ticky tack stuff on us. Double bonus already?

3rd and 4th 5 minutes
Gadsen and Mattos both look raw. Glad to see them getting minutes
9 point swing.
Guys left the benches. Should have been ejected.
Sierra looks solid
They are on a run. We are playing well but are in bad foul trouble
Lots of turnovers
We have 2 pgs in essentially and can't get anuthing going

2nd half
We can't get open shots at all. Very bad ball movement etc.
24 turnovers with 10 minutes to go WOW
Ive given up.
Fast forward time.

Overall
Cut turnovers
Lillard needs to score more
Start Plowden but play Uju
Wiggins was more aggressive tonight which I love to see

One thing that looked readily apparent to me last evening was that even though Frye & Turner are 2 of your top 4 players, they both play the same position. I'm not overly comfortable with either being the primary PG. I don't know if Laster can be a true starting PG, but I'd be inclined to play him more minutes.

I do hope that Frye can keep up his improved shooting as the year goes on. He started pretty hot last year then it took a deep dive during MAC season. It's encouraging to see him still shoot pretty well against VCU & St. John's. If Matiss is not going to see the court we absolutely need Frye to be a 40-45% shooter from 3 this year. And he should be shooting a LOT of them. You can't win without making 3s and we just don't have many other guys who are even really a threat back there (shout out to Plowden for draining a long one in garbage time though).

I think you can win in the MAC with Frye and Turner as your guards, especially knowing that Laster can come in and get 20+ minutes.
I think you can win in the MAC IF you find ways to get open shots for both of them and the rest of your guys can pass and know the system.
I think that Wiggins can be a solid big and looked great last game because he was more aggressive. We tend to let games come to us instead of vice versa.

This team won't be good until they get some sort of identity. Now it feels like they have never played together and it's a pick up game at the REC.
