Does anyone know who shot this footage and who the reporter is in the footage? I do. They are both good friends of mine. They are pretty proud of their work.

As they should be. Thats a great frammed shot using the basket on the right side. The reporter is right perfectly in the rule of thirds and looking into the shot. They lighting even looks great which takes a lot to white balance in Anderson. Yeah, I would be proud of it, too.

She does a great job with feature reporting too... I think I've seen her do a clip or two for the Dakich TV show.

I know the reporter, I worked with her on some productions over the summer at a certain baseball team in a certain city that will remain nameless, but easy to figure out. . .

Am I seeing this correctly, the south backboard is attached to the floor and not one of the movable types? Does that explain the delay? Again - have not been in Anderson for a long time and never really noticed that they were movable or not by watching the game on TV?
neither of the hoops are movable, i.e. on wheels. they're both attached below the floor, and further supported by a chain pulley on center behing the backboard and two other guy wires at each of the upper corners of the backboard. they use the pulley to pull up the entire assembly to the celing when the hoops aren't in use (commencement, convocation, boys state, volleyball, sock hops, etc.)

i'd like to think that new baskets (the hydraulic ones on wheels) are on the off season shopping list. just wonder ho much floor space those till take up.

Thanks for the info. Yeah - new technology would be great in any renovation of Anderson, including the portable/heavy duty hoops.

Not having nosed around Anderson that much as a student - I don't know if they have a large storage area for chairs, tables, hoops, and so on. There is so much space out in the maintenance support buildings behind the Tech Building they might not have much storage at Anderson.

If the boards in there now are the last ones available, and they DON'T go with a portable goal by next season, they get what they deserve if another one breaks.

It appears from the diagram of the basket sytem you suggested requires approx. 15ft. of space extending from the baseline. I don't think that thing will fit properly in AA -- especially not on the north end. I think we would have to retract the south bleachers a little bit for it to fit in the south end as well. I assume they are going to try and make the current system work until they get a plan for either building a new arena/updating AA/staying in AA until it falls apart.
