Stat watch 2018-2019
It's hard to believe this team is as bad as it looks to be. 4 of the 5 starters could be 1000 point scorers by year end. 2 are likely 2 have a decent chance. Our 1st team MAC C is probably going to end up 3rd all time in Rebounds at the U.

Its very likely DeMajeo passes his own coach next week for 8th all time on the rebound list. And then a week or so later becomes a 1000th pt scorer.

Re: Stat watch 2018-2019
Thanks for the stats. It's interesting that three of the top 11 program rebounders played while I was at BG.
The fact that individuals may end up with some decent career numbers kind of reinforces the idea that a team isn't always greater than the sum of its parts...but it should be. As we all know, a little something called coaching plays heavily into these things.

DeMajeo moves in front of Stacey. By this time tomorrow could be 7th all time rebounding.

Demajeo 7th all time in rebounds. 2 points away from 1000 career points. Looking more and more likely we could get 4 1000 pt scorers in 1 season.

Re: Stat watch 2018-2019
This is a frustrating year to say the least. Same old same old on the court. It's possible that 4 players get to 1000 pts during the same year. The player leading the way also is 3rd all time in rebounds. And yet we are an average to below average team yet again.
Re: Stat watch 2018-2019
We have a collection of above average talent that has never come together, has never taken any steps forward a s a team. At the same time while the players we have are talented the roster as a whole is seriously flawed.
The announcers on ESPN+ yesterday (who were quite awful) called our team a "throwback". Disciplined decent defense, rebounding, and an offense trying to run through the post.
Personally, I thought calling us a throwback was an accurate assessment, and a terrible indictment of the current staff. We're going backwards

Frye has taken 8 foul shots this year. How is that even possible. FWIW he has only made 3.

Re: Stat watch 2018-2019
Wiggins has started passing up peeps. He is 36 all time.
He passed Denny and Esterkamp today and will pass Holmes with a basket later this week. Then it's Netter, Nate Miller and Josh Ahlmanson.

What is missing from several years past is atmosphere, a robust student fan base. Having 10 to 15 people sitting in the student section when classes are in session is pathetic and takes away from these milestone/accomplishments.Globetrotter wrote:This is a frustrating year to say the least. Maybe the university could invest in about 2000 screaming Stepford Fans and load up the student section and scatter the rest of them all about.

Wiggins passes Matela and is 3rd all time in rebounding. Long road to second but it's reachable.
