Bring in a fresh new young coach with no baggage to rebuild the program. We will have to suffer through a few more down years. Call Freeman from Cincinnati and offer the job.
Coach Pelin, why take the names off the players jerseys? That is so old school! MOOSE call the Bearcats and get this guy!
I wrote up a thread all about Marcus Freeman. Interesting idea but I think he's just too young and inexperienced for an FBS head coaching job. That is my outside looking in opinion having never met the guy but only looking at his record. I think he should make a move at an FCS head coaching job first.

MarkL. Coach Pelin over Freeman really? Coaching at BGSU is like being a FCS at this time.

I've watch this guy coach the past three games at UC . No question this guy is a better coach then what we have currently on staff. What we have is a losing culture and program now. Need to make a move with a young guy with all the qualities on a checklist.

Sorry Pellin is not the answer. This guy cried because they beat a team worst then BGSU a few weeks ago. Really!!!

Did I say Pelini is? Answer, no. This is not Pelini vs Freeman. I am questioning if Freeman should actually be a candidate.

I imagine if it was him, it would have been announced either before or after the game...but we'll see.
I agree. We would probably know by now, especially given that Todd Walker has said we already have someone lined up.

The only reason to avoid making an announcement right now is because our next coach is with a school where the regular season has yet to conclude (in the case of FBS) or where a playoff run is still ongoing (in the case of FCS).

Perhaps we will have an announcement this week. Maybe we will have to wait a bit longer. Either way, it's reassuring to know that the search is complete.

If Todd Walker says someone has accepted the job, I have no reason to doubt that this is true. He works for BGSU, after all.

(I didn't hear that statement. But JPFalcon09 says he did. That's good enough for me.)

Question: When was the coaching position officially posted?

Remember, this is a state level job that requires an official posting and public application period. Correct me if I'm wrong (probably am), but the only way to fill it without the one posting of the job is by promotion from within.

Its not Pelini. I'm hearing it is indeed Brian Polian. Supposed to be in town sometime this upcoming week to officially accept the position.

Polian would be a good pick. Head coach experience where he had to follow up a legend. Didn't go great but then worked for Brian Kelly and surely learned a ton. Has also coached for Saban. Lots of experience. More thoughts on this later.

Polian would be a "safe" pick....

The case for him is not obvious to me. If this is the guy, I look forward to learning more.
