That page, from June 20, seems out of date.

Polian's bio identifies him as recruiting coordinator as does this list of coaches.

Yep, your source is better. I was just showing where I got it from. Everywhere else I saw him said he was recruiting coordinator.

I'm still amazed on how quiet the interview process has been.

Has anyone even heard what other candidates are being interviewed?

and when might the hire happen???

Bowling Green KY (WKU) fired their HC Sunday and introduced their new HC today and they know who the OC will be (and the Vols will be looking for their 5th OC in the last 6 years...sound familar?)

CMU has a plethora of potential candidates...either "targets" or "have interest", some with 'big' names too... http://footballscoop.com/news/update-he ... -michigan/" target="_blank

In other AZZ threads...there is a list of other HC's (and their Staffs) getting picked up by other schools.

USA Today had an article of a 'trend' (?) of older coaches being hired...more experienced, wiser and less chance of a "hot young coach"... who then fails.

We must be getting the next Nick Sabin! or _________ :?:

(yes , I know...if a candidate is still playing, we may have to wait). :smt114

Everything I have heard points to an announcement this week.

That speaks well of Moose.

If Polian has been in for two interviews, he is absolutely the leading candidate. And if we don't hear some kind of confirmation in the next day or so, I'd think that we are going in a different direction because somehow there was no offer or agreement to terms. These things generally go very fast and we've had a beat on everyone.

It's been 43 days and counting. A decision needs to be made, and it needs to be made now. The entire rationale for making the move mid-season was to get a jump on the hiring process. WKU fired and hired a new coach in 2 days and CMU is now actively looking.

Every day that passes is another day closer to the early signing period. A weakened recruiting class will set the program back even further.

It's rapidly approaching the point of foot-dragging...

The Blade has confirmed that at least 2 candidates have been interviewed, being Pelini and Polian.

It did sound like there are other candidates, but that could not be confirmed.

Gotta wonder if money is an issue with Polian? Couldn't find his salary online but he has to be making decent coin at ND. He made almost $600K at Nevada a few years ago so you have to believe it's going to take more than that to hire him.

Easy, tiger.

If it takes a few more days to get this right, that won't matter in the big scheme of things.

But it will. A lost recruiting class would be devastating, particularly in 4 years when they're seniors. This should have been done by now...they've had plenty of time.

Exactly. Clawson's first class was a hodgepodge of Brandon commits that didn't follow coaches to other MAC programs and kids Clawson staff were eyeing. It turned out all right, even if it wasn't as good as the class Brandon had coming in. Sacrificing that class was worth the change.

Notre Dame typically doesn’t pay their assistants top dollar. It’s always been their philosophy that the putting ND on your resume should be worth the difference in pay.

I’m guessing Polian is in the $350-450k range and wouldn’t be shocked if it was lower.

Clark Lea is a first year DC, but I think he’s signed on for $600k

Btw how crazy is it that two straight Notre Dame DCs are former Bowling Green assistants on the 2012 staff?

Weather delays have slowed the search? Basketball teams fly all over the country all winter long. Lol I sure hope more than just Pelini and Polian have been interviewed. If not, BG fired Jinks with basically no game plan. If somehow Pelini ends up with this job, which I think becomes slightly more likely with each passing day, it will be the all time level of department dysfunction.
