Nice hire. We’ll still beat you the next ten years but you guys should win the other games!

Pelini should get an honest shot at DC. And if he's not the guy, what about Ron English?

He’s probably making more at Florida being a position coach.MarkL wrote:Pelini should get an honest shot at DC. And if he's not the guy, what about Ron English?
Those who can't do, teach. Those who can't teach, teach PE.

Terrible idea. Creates an immediate divide between the players who supported Pelini and those moving on to the new coach.MarkL wrote:Pelini should get an honest shot at DC. And if he's not the guy, what about Ron English?
This program needs to be cleaned out from top to bottom.

Re: Scot Loeffler
My only comment now is to let this process go forward. Hire a staff and RECRUIT! Why some of folks throw out negative comments is beyond me.
This man has a solid resume, comes to BG from previous jobs in high profile or P5 programs and some folks act like this is a meh hire?
I wish you GOOD LUCK Scot Loeffler and welcome to BGSU!

The QB room should be happy.

Re: Scot Loeffler
Quick thought I had. Loeffler was hired at BC a few years ago to perform a miracle. BC offense was inept in 2015. Dead. Incompetent. And he quickly breathed life into them. He developed a fringe Heisman candidate in the RB AJ Dillon and made a decent passing attack too.
We have a program in ashes. There are some stars here and there, yes (including one great set of RBs), but these are guys that have been used to a culture of losing games unfortunately. The previous coaching staff recruited a bunch of guys that never made it. A hugely significant percentage of recruits from the last three years are gone. There us no depth at critical positions, like DL.
Loeffler performed one miracle, or at least sparked a fire where there was not one before. Sounds like what we need right now.
I look forward to the press conference.

Re: Scot Loeffler
You might see one or two guys from either side of the ball stick around...that happens with a lot of coaching changes...but guys in leadership? Would be shocked if ANY of them stayed.
If Doege leaves...we can roll the dice with Loy, Veasley and whomever else comes along. Worth noting that BGSU has an offer out to high *** QB Sam Johnson from Walled Lake, MI. He's a verbal to BC...but he was recruited there by.....Scot Loeffler
