ATTENDANCE AND HOW TO IMPROVE

Post by BelieveNBG »

I just read an article about how a university raised their attendance by 20%. They actually put alot of marketing efforts into getting it done. Now, there's a thought. Some things they did:

-Coca-Cola came in and gave out 4 bicycles to fans along with free t-shirts to the first few hundred fans

-Cheerleaders toss t-shirts during every home game

-Parachutes drop coupons for free pizza, nachos, hot dogs, etc.

-Take a kid to a game, tickets are given to students at local elementary schools

-Halftime entertainment from the community

They put a major emphasis on trying to involve the community... Along with winning.

You are, Flipper, you are. :D

And thanks, 87, I was going to pick one, but I figured I'd just link to the GIS smorgasboard and let users pick their pony of choice.

Say what you will, but some of us won't stop beating that horse until marketing starts doing what they are supposed to do and marketing the talent that we have on the field. The proof will be in the numbers.

Besides, the off season is the time to mention these things. During the season, I only want to talk about what's going on between the lines.

BelieveNBG,

I see your point. I think that we are at a little bit of a standstill on this right now until a new director of marketing is named. Once that happens I think some of us from here should meet with the new person and talk about ideas.

Flipper, I think you got 'em.

kdog... this is an attendance thread, not one about Marion Berry.

And I know there is alot to work on with attendance, and it does better to discuss it in the offseason with the hope of planning in the future, but it seems like one of these has come and gone every month for the last year and a half, and we're still left where we're at.
