@ UAH (12/1-12/2)

Post by mbenecke »

The new USCHO poll was revealed on Monday afternoon and our Falcons are sitting at #12 in the country.

Another important battle with 6 league points on the line is on tap this weekend as we take on the Alabama Huntsville Chargers (1-11-0). The reason I call this a big series is because I feel that it will be a test for us. Despite their record, UAH can be a thorn in our side if we don't take them seriously and play hard, focused, physical hockey. I think it will be interesting to see if this team can finish off their first WCHA sweep of the season this weekend. Ultimately, this will be a good test for our guys, and it's two huge opportunities to take league some points and look good against an inferior opponent in the process, so I hope our boys take advantage of it. Saturday night's puck drop is slated for 7:07pm, and Sunday afternoon's game will begin at 4:07pm.

Goaltender Stats

UAH
Mark Sinclair: GAA - 2.40, SV% - .931, 1-7-0
Jake Theut: GAA - 4.26, SV% - .902, 0-4-0

BGSU
Ryan Bednard: GAA - 1.72, SV% - .925, 8-2-1
Eric Dop: GAA - 1.46, SV% - .951, 0-1-1

UAH's Last 5:
vs. Alaska L, 2-1
vs. Alaska W 3-1
vs. Michigan Tech L, 4-1
vs. Michigan Tech WL, 2-1
@ Lake Superior State L, 2-1

Leave your predictions and thoughts for this weekend below. Go Falcons!

This type of team always scares me. Looks like Sinclair is not getting much offense in front of him.

I think we'll need good goaltending this weekend. UAH scores just over 1 per game, so as long as we hold them to their average, we should be alright.

His numbers are actually pretty good! I was thinking they must give up a ton of shots. And are obviously not producing on the other end

Don't know if we'll make it this trip. We stopped at Jack's in Nashville on the way down. Early game tomorrow will have us heading north after it's over.
All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.

Falcons win, 6-2!

Goals from Cameron Wright, Adam Smith, Sam Craggs, Lukas Craggs (2x), and Max Johnson. Let's get the sweep tomorrow night.

Try Peg-Leg Porker in Nashville if you get a chance.

Puck in your own net with goalie pulled? Happened just a couple years ago to BG in BG.

So does that goal count against Dop’s save pct and GAA? I don’t know how that’s scored.

Nope. That goal was scored on an empty net.
