Need some sort of continuity on the defensive side of the ball. I don't think there will be any fractures among the group, Carl knew his job was to bridge the program from Jinks to Loeffler and the fact he's staying speaks to his character and how much he adores BGSU. It's a smart move.

We looked better against those guys than we did Eastern Kentucky. That implies some progress. And we seemed to do fairly well against passing teams all season.

Here's an interview with Pelini today, for what it's worth. He seems like a decent guy. The players like him. Let's see if he can make more progress next year.

Some chatter on Twitter that Loeffler was offered the Akron job the last time it was vacant, prior to Bowden taking the gig. They're a week late this time around m

Is there any chance D.J. Durkin could find his way back here as a defensive assistant?

Brady Hoke coaching the DL would be fun

I’d rather have Jon Hoke coaching the DB’s!

God I hope not. I don't want that dirt-bag anywhere near the program.

I think this coaching staff looks pretty good. Keeping Pelini was a big deal IMO. I would bet there are a handful of coaches on this staff already that are better than Jinks is.

Campenni played at UConn and was second team all-AAC his senior year. Nice mix of youth and experience on the staff.

If that name sounds familiar, it's because he actually committed to play at BG back in 2011 but we lost him.

Campenni officially announced, and Brian VanGorder was added as DL and associate head coach. Schoonover will also be coaching special teams. Quite the get in VanGorder. Staff is now complete.
