Recruiting updates
Just reading Twitter , it would seem that BG is going HARD after kids on the POWER teams in NE Ohio. Offers out to several kids from Ignatius, Ed’s, and Mentor.
Already on juniors as well as seniors. Glad to see. We already have an Iggy kid committed, after 2 more plus offers to 2 Ed’s kids and Mentor Jr. QB.
I mentioned this before but having Pelini on staff could be a big reason for some of this, though several new guys are supposed to have Ohio connections too.

Re: Recruiting updates
There’s a tweet from someone named coach Miller who basically says “sorry you were deceived and lied to by members of BGSU,especially this close to signing day.”
No indication as to who the kid is, but also no indication of WHICH BG staff lied, as I thought Loeffler said he’d honor offers made before new staff came onboard.
Anyone got ideas as to who this could be?

Re: Recruiting updates
Looks like the player referenced is Josh Moore WR, a June verbal from Coffeyville JUCO.Class of 61 wrote:There’s a tweet from someone named coach Miller who basically says “sorry you were deceived and lied to by members of BGSU,especially this close to signing day.”

Re: Recruiting updates
Looks like they also offered three kids from coach Warner's old high school in FL. An OT, an Athlete and a Wr/DB.
Re the JUCO kid...we had a similar controversy before when Clawson left. A kid in PA thought he had an offer...but it wasn't in writing. When the coaching change happened, that "offer" wasn't in writing so it wasn't honored. The kid and his coach put the boots to BG through their local paper. Not sure what happened here...but from what I've gathered, if you commit in June and don't get something in writing in the fall, you don't have an offer

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Re: Recruiting updates
I found the tweet you mentioned on orange and brown blogspot. He has various BG related tweets on the left side of the page. Then I simply went to Coach Miller's Twitter account and saw he was replying to some football player's tweet. Followed that Twitter feed to Josh moore's account and then looked him up on 247 sports to find the verbal. Guess I have too much time on my hands.Class of 61 wrote:Fred, where did you find this?

I’m guessing Miller will not be Grad Assistant in 2019 for BG?

Running your mouth like that is a good way to not get hired by anyone. #BiteTheHand

Re: Recruiting updates
Ben Patton has committed as a PWO to both the football and baseball programs. Looks like a kicker on the football side. Resides in Rochester, MI.

1st Team All-State kicker. I'm wondering if he took a PWO here because they're going to allow him to play two sports over a school that might not provide that option.jpfalcon09 wrote:Ben Patton has committed as a PWO to both the football and baseball programs. MLB Brock Horne verbals to BG. 3* from MI. Had offers from other MAC schools, couple Ivy League and PWO Power 5.

Re: Recruiting updates
Nice. Highest rated recruit of the class so far according to 24/7. Our December signing day is going to be light, at best, so getting one or two solid rated players is nice. Hopefully we can get a few good additions in the spring and a graduate transfer or two to close the gap.Tony4BG wrote:MLB Brock Horne verbals to BG. 3* from MI.
