Re: New Assistants?
Did we just get the former Atlanta Falcons Defensive Coordinator to coach our DL? Wow. That's awesome to say the least. Great staff. Total game changer.
Re: New Assistants?
Pretty impressive staff put together by Loeffler!

This is a good staff. Loeffler providing the experience and quality that he promised.jpfalcon09 wrote:Campenni officially announced, and Brian VanGorder was added as DL and associate head coach. Schoonover will also be coaching special teams. Quite the get in VanGorder. Staff is now complete.

Again...that is an assistant coach with a pretty impressive resume. They have about 10 days to flip some kids and land some others who are on the fence. Let's see what hey can do.

VanGorder was the DC for the Falcons along with coaching the linebackers.Tony4BG wrote:Not really. Linebackers. LolGlobetrotter wrote:Did we just get the former Atlanta Falcons Defensive Coordinator to coach our DL? Wow. That's awesome to say the least. Great staff. Total game changer.
His last two DC stops in Notre Dame and Louisville were some pretty big flops. Seems like he's in a better role this time around.

VanGorder's notable stops:

2005: Jacksonville Jaguars (LB)
2007: Atlanta Falcons (LB)
2008-2011: Atlanta Falcons (DC)
2012: Auburn (DC) - I assume this is where Loeffler and VanGorder crossed paths**
2013: New York Jets (LB)
2014: Notre Dame (DC, LB)

Man, the hate BG is getting online is hilarious. Plenty of college football fans are going to want to watch this staff fail.

Any specifics? Other than some “ negative nellies” on AZZ, what are you seeing?

Lots of butthurt P5 fans. We've already covered Auburn, VT and BC with Loeffler. ND fans can't stand BVG, same for Auburn. When you've been around the block a few times you're bound to have jobs that didn't work out for one reason or another.Class of 61 wrote:jpfalcon09 wrote:Man, the hate BG is getting online is hilarious. I'm curious as well. Who is it from? I haven't seen anything, but now my interest is piqued.Class of 61 wrote:jpfalcon09 wrote:Man, the hate BG is getting online is hilarious. Plenty of college football fans are going to want to watch this staff fail.

ROLL ALONG!!!
Re: New Assistants?
Yeah, I'm seeing a lot on twitter, as well. A lot of guys can't really cut it as coordinators, but having him as an LB coach, and serving as a mentor to some of the younger guys like Campenni, seems like a great move to me.jpfalcon09 wrote:Lots of butthurt P5 fans. The people on twitter would be no different than a lot of BG fans if we saw Jinks hired as an RB coach at Baylor. We have a negative view of our experience with him, but he'd probably be a pretty good position coach in Texas.

Bedford (MI) has an opening for a head football coach....I wonder if Mike Jinks would be interested
