I couldn't find it put I'd have to think it's been a long time since we swept a Top 5 team in the country at home. I thought it might be back in the CCHA days with Michigan State in the legendary York v Mason battles. But looking through those years, we'd play home v home with them, ohio state, Michigan and Miami back then.

So it could have been the highest ranked team we've ever swept at home. Those that may have more resources feel free to throw in your two cents.
According to the WCHA web site we swept #1 Michigan on Feb. 7-8, 1992. That was the last sweep of a top-5 opponent.

Here are a couple charts at the halfway point. First one shows breakdown of our top 10 scorers by goals, first assists, second assists on a per game basis. Not surprisingly, a lot of our goals start with Rauhauser and Kruse.

And with Arizona State's loss to Clarkson last night, as well.

Now #9 Minnesota State plays #10 Arizona State this evening. Big-time showdown there.

Minnesota State will drop to #13 tonight after a tie. Rough month for the Mavs.

Running scenarios of the rest of our season (13 games) for an at-large; things aren't looking good, to say the least:

2 losses or less: safe.
3 losses: Good chance, but only with a good WCHA tournament.
4 losses: Almost certainly out. Still possible with a.) 2 sweeps in the WCHA tournament, and/or b.) a lot of help from teams around us losing.
5 losses or more: WCHA Champions or bust.

If you’re going to play an awful WCHA schedule...then maybe stop scheduling Atlantic Hockey opponents for an extra 3 or 4 games a year. You’re likely going to have to go on the road, but if the team is as good as they think then go beat some teams and earn an at large. You can hang you’re hat on beating OSU and Minnesota State but to this point the SOS is 46th. Team doesn’t deserve an at large playing that schedule.

BG back to 10th tonight. Lots of help with Arizona State, Providence, Notre Dame and Penn State all losing.

After the split with UAF, BG sits 12th in PWR. Some help this past weekend with WMU getting swept by WMU, BC beating Providence, Notre Dame going 0-1-1 against Wisconsin and the Buckeyes sweeping Penn State.
