WCHA play resumes tonight and tomorrow. The Beavers are 8-9-3 and are coming off a 3-3 tie and 6-3 loss to Air Force last weekend. Important two games as Tech and Mankato play each other this weekend, good opportunity to potentially get some separation.

Is there a reason for the Thursday night start?
Re: Bemidji
My guess is instead of flying/bussing from Colorado to Bemidji, then traveling 14 hours here, Bemidji just flew here. Thursday/Friday allows them to get home a day earlier.Schadenfreude wrote:Is there a reason for the Thursday night start?

Kudos to jpfalcon09 for starting this thread. I usually take it upon myself to get the conversation started (I love talking BG hockey!), but I was busy with holidays and everything else this week, combined with the Thursday start, so I was slacking. Good on ya, jp!
We're the only WCHA game tonight, so a tie + shootout win, or a win straight-up, puts us in first place in the WCHA. It's crucial for us to get 6 points this weekend so we can start building our way towards securing home ice throughout the playoffs. One game at a time, gentlemen!
Goalie Stats
BGSU:
Ryan Bednard - GAA - 1.72; SV% - .927; 11-2-2
Eric Dop - GAA - 1.48; SV% .938, 2-1-1
Bemidji State:
Henry Johnson - GAA - 2.05; SV% .914, 5-5-2
Zach Driscoll - GAA - 2.57; SV% .897, 3-3-1

BG not back from break. Terribly outplayed that first period. They need to wake up in the second or this will be a long, disappointing night.pdt1081 wrote:End of 1, BG down 0-2. Shots are 7-22, bad guys

Brutal effort. Everyone sleepwalking. 3rd goal was terrible and could be a back breaker.

Honestly, is anyone surprised by this score? I'm not (sadly). I hope they can rally.

Nope. Elite teams don't have games like this. Going to need to win tomorrow now to at best stay 8th in the PWR.Falconwriter wrote:Honestly, is anyone surprised by this score? I'm not (sadly). I hope they can rally.
