It wasn't even like the effort last night was poor overall. The first two periods were basically even, though I think we carried play for the most part. It's just unfortunate that we couldn't find the back of the net, no matter what we tried.

I thought it was kind of silly for them to disallow our goal on a not-so-obvious call, but it is what it is.

Here's the thing, that goal should have counted. He was not standing in the crease before the shot, and didn't interfere with the goaltender. Tech didn't even protest when it went in and was as confused as BG when it was disallowed.

To me, it should have been called a goal on the ice so that they could have actually reviewed it. They didn't even take a second to look at it, and that really rubbed me the wrong way. My patience with the officials in this conference is beginning to wear thin.

SATURDAY

End of 1, BG leads 2-0. Shots are 13-9, BG.

Tech finally gets a penalty called on them only after Rauhauser had enough and started throwing punches. BG starts the 2nd on a 4 on 3 powerplay.

A win is a win, so I'll take it.

Momentarily back in 2nd in the conference, so we'll watch the scoreboard and hope NMU loses tonight.

Important 6 points up for grabs at Fairbanks next weekend.

I learned this evening that Gary Kruzich is the color commentator for Tech's hockey radio broadcast. A Web search says he was hired as Tech's Director of Athletic Partnerships and Ticket Sales in 2016.
