BTW - Official attendance was 1,507. Is that comparable to the other home games this year?

Re: vs. Ball State 1/15
When's the last time we shot like that from the line?! Worst FT shooting team in the conference coming up huge at the strike in a game where we needed it the most. Contributions from everywhere, seems like there's a new player stepping up every time we take the floor. Refs were trash but I loved the falcon faithful letting them have it down the stretch after those 2 botched block/charge calls. Nice to see a somewhat decent crowd from what I could tell. Making the trip this weekend for my first game of the season. Excited to finally see them in person and not on my iphone!
Class of '15. Former Townie---Come from a long line of Falcons.

Yeah, I think 2,500 minimum is the sweet spot to get that place rocking. This team has proven that they deserve 3k plus for their home games, but unfortunately that doesn't happen overnight. I wonder if they could do another promotion like they did with the Maryland football game where they gave a bunch of tickets at the local schools to encourage locals to come out and buy a few more tickets. If I lived a bit closer, I'd be making the trip as often as I could.mbenecke wrote:It's slightly above the season average of 1,461.Redwingtom wrote:BTW - Official attendance was 1,507. Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

I was a bit surprised that they didn't put Laster in anytime during this sequence, since he was a super-effective 1-man press break vs CMU. But then again, the way the 5 on the floor were knocking down FTs and defending their butts off, who do you take out?hammb wrote:That series of inbounds plays/execution was awful. Not sure I've ever watched a team get 2nd and 3rd chances on a single inbounds, and STILL fail to get the ball in bounds.Rollo83 wrote:Glad we won. We tried to throw it away late protecting a one possession lead.
Last 30 seconds we couldn’t inbound the ball three times and got bailed out with a questionable foul a fourth time.
Why can’t Huger design a play that doesn’t put the ball in the corner where they can trap us? Had to use a TO, got tied up for a jump ball, and Lillard gets a 5 second call for not throwing the ball in.
Lucky to come out with the W. On against WMU on Saturday.
Also, on the 5 second call, Lillard flat out missed Turner streaking deep for what would have been an easy layup. That's where not being able to run the baseline hurt because of the previous 2 failed attempts to get out of that corner.
LONG LIVE THE MONGOOSE!!
Re: vs. Ball State 1/15
Couldn't remember which of the 3 attempts it was, but vividly remember Turner running WIDE open and the passer either didn't see him or didn't have the guts to make the pass. He was open by a good 5 feetMatty B wrote:I was a bit surprised that they didn't put Laster in anytime during this sequence, since he was a super-effective 1-man press break vs CMU. Re: vs. Ball State 1/15
I already covered my part of this (which you obviously didn't see). Nobody will be happier to eat crow than me IF this team finishes this season as strongly as it has begun. And NOBODY will be happier to eat crow on Coach Huger than me IF he gets this program to an elite level in the conference (at least). Those of us who have been critical are long, long time fans of this program. Never forget that. Our criticisms have come out of the frustration we've felt seeing BGSU go through a 50+ year drought of not making the NCAA, and the fact that there is no earthly reason BG cannot be a basketball power in this league. In fact, given the resources it has been given, it should already be one.60yearsofsicsic wrote:I think there is going to be a lot of crow eating on this board after this year....

Feed me all the crow available. This current team would beat the Early November team by 20. Huger deserves praise. He is 2 wins away from being .500 for his career and started this season 4-5. I have no idea if he is a good coach yet but he's improving, which is something I doubted.Falconwriter wrote:I already covered my part of this (which you obviously didn't see). I don't think I have ever heard booing that loudly in the Stroh before.Falconfreak90 wrote:lol. Listening to Todd Walker and he said the last two calls were horrible. By my account, there were about 150 more there than usual.drumstix2388 wrote:Really hoping there is a big turnout for this game. The team deserves it with how they’ve been playing lately.
