And have been outscored 14-2 to start the 3rd. BG now trails 47-43 with 5 min left in the 3rd. We cannot afford to keep having these bad quarters ...

We are getting killed by not boxing out and losing rebounds. We cannot put together 4 solid quarters.

Just like the NIU game, we blew a halftime lead and got outscored by double in the 2nd half. Actually, outscored 46-24 in the 2nd half.

BG loses 79-65.

Now 7-9, 0-5 MAC.

BG is young. In a couple years they’ll be competing for Division title. They were just hammered on the boards which is surprising. We usually don’t rebound well.

I made the trek from Cleveland. You guys will be good in 1-2 years. Good shooting, a decent post game, and several scorers to choose from. Probably need a better pg and more improvement on defense. Fralick is going to get this program back into the NCAA tournament soon. You guys will be a tough matchup in Cleveland...

It seems that every time the Falcons have a scoring drought, their ability to get stops on the defensive end also dwindles, giving the opponents huge scoring runs. McIntire finally got Perry’s number by blocking several of her shots in a row in the third quarter. It seems the Falcons played with high energy in the first half, and then fell back into their usual third and fourth quarter doldrums later on. The difference between our recent teams and teams of the Curt Miller era is being aggressive and imposing their will on the opponents. On inside shots, we need to face the basket and finish. Clare Glowniak gets aggressive when she gets the ball inside, except when she shoots. She’s strong enough to take the ball right to the hole and laying it in. She has a habit of shooting her short jumpers and layups over her shoulder, and sometimes ends up being a wild shot off the glass. We’ve gotten into a habit of taking only what we’re given, and not being physical enough and creative enough to consistently put points on the board. Are we talented enough? Absolutely! Are we good enough? Absolutely not! We absolutely must become better players before we can become a better team. It appears that our freshman are the ones who are stepping into the leadership roles, because it’s not getting done by the upperclassmen! Our goal should be to win every quarter, one at a time. Win each quarter, win the game! Just my honest opinion. Go Falcons! We’re still behind you all the way!

Is conditioning an issue? Might account for second half slides.

I've wondered that myself. As often as Coach Fralick subs in and out, you would think we would have enough juice to run on the whole game. The Falcons were a whole different team in the first half than they were the second. I believe that once the body gets fatigued, so does the mind. Mental sharpness also seems to fall by the wayside in the 2nd half, as we seem to always make more mistakes after halftime. Sydney Lambert has not been pulled the last two or three games to get a breather, and it really shows late in the game. But because of that, she's likely in much better physical condition than the rest of the team. Maybe Coach Fralick needs to work someone else in at point occasionally, because if not, and Syd gets hurt, she'd have to choose someone else to run the offense in a pinch. I was disappointed to see Kennedy Williams leave the program after last season, as she had potential to be a great point guard. There's nothing wrong with extra running during practice if a lack of conditioning is an issue. I believe that Allison Papenfuss is the strength and conditioning coach. It's only right to expect our team to physically endure each game as well as our opponents. Maybe the coaching staff needs to assess if we're running out of steam in the second half. GO FALCONS!
