Sure would be nice to win a faceoff in or defensive end once in a while.

Both Bemidji goals off of faceoff wins in our defensive end. Grrrrr.

5 points on the road keeps BG alone in 2nd place. That is huge going into the final weekend, They also clinch home ice for the first round in the playoffs and they can clinch home ice for the second round next week. Go BG!!!!!

At-large chances are pretty much gone. Hope they can sew up the two seed next weekend, they'll need all the help they can get to reach the championship game.

We're gonna need all hands on deck next weekend. UAH is still fighting for a playoff spot, so they're gonna come out hot.
This community and fan base needs to rally around these boys. Let's earn an extra weekend of home hockey.

Do you look at the Pairwise Rankings before you post? We are, as I type this, 16th with one game still in action. We are very close to 15th and not out of reach of moving up farther. If we make a long run in the WCHA playoffs, we can still move up and get an at large bid if we don't win the league.jpfalcon09 wrote:At-large chances are pretty much gone. Yes I do. I crunched the numbers for next weekend already with who will likely win. BG doesn't control their own destiny any longer. Beating UAH and UAF isn't going to do much of anything to improve their RPI. They'll need help and in all likelihood have to reach the WCHA championship game to move up enough. 16th is out right now with the Atlantic winner being ranked worse than BG, and Ohio State is the only B1G program who would help out BG. Not good odds.Hockey John wrote:Do you look at the Pairwise Rankings before you post? We are, as I type this, 16th with one game still in action. BG would have to go undefeated til the championship game to have a chance at an at large. It would still be a long shot. They don’t play enough good teams.

Re: @ Bemidji (2/22-2/23)
I'm not sure that's still possible. Beating UAH gives us next to nothing in PWR. If we do sweep, we'll get Fairbanks in the first round of the playoffs, who will also be of no help. And don't forget, everyone around us will likely be winning their games that weekend as they'll be playing low seeded teams. Sweeping in round 2 will probably be negated by losing the championship game.TommyG wrote:BG would have to go undefeated til the championship game to have a chance at an at large. We've hit one loss too many, I'm afraid.

Re: @ Bemidji (2/22-2/23)
I'm sure several of these items have been previously brought up.
Out of Conference schedule is fine.
League is fine, just don't loss or tie to the bottom teams that are awful.
Let's look at 4 games and see how drastically looses and tie against awful teams kill your pairwise.
Current Pairwise - .5418 good for 16th.
Robert Morris (56th Pairwise) lost 10/12. Change that a W
Alaska Anchorage (60th Pairwise) Tied 11/9. Change to a W
Ferris State (57th Pairwise) Tied 12/7. Change to a W
Ferris State (57th Pairwise) Lost 1/25. Change to a W
Changes Pairwise to .5676 good for 6th and at this point a guaranteed At-large. Beat the good teams and don't loss to the awful teams, Those four games against AWFUL teams are holding this team back from potentially being a national #2 seed.
