We played a helluva game against the best MAC team I've ever seen. We played damned good defense on their 2 best players and their #3 guy lit us up because they're that fu**ing good.

Helluva year falcons. Let's learn from it and grow.

Great season no matter how you look at it. Downs and ups and downs and ups. Next year with Oates likely leaving and tons of graduations we should be among the best teams in the league. I think we need to fix 4 things to be the class of the MAC next year.

1. The offense: It's bad. It's evident it doesn't work well and we don't play to our strengths. We are only in games if we are hitting threes. Frye has a terrible shot selection for a JR and we don't move the ball nearly well enough. We need to do something to get spacing on the floor and more movements.
2. The energy: This is our biggest issue. We just lose energy and then lose spacing and play bad defense and they have wide open shots. I don't know if it's conditioning or heart (Hopefully getting another guard will help this)
3. Believing we are a great team: It seems like we would often wilt in big games. We have been getting better and a championship game run should help that.
4. Replace Wiggins: Lillard and Uju should be replaceable. Both very good rotational players but we have guys in the pipeline that I think can take their minutes (Zeigler, Turner, Mattis). I am more concerned about Wiggins. Despite his weaknesses he was a very good player at BG. Gadsen and Mattos are here but played very few minutes. Mattis and Sierra might be options there. And we have 2 more scholarships available. For a Grad Xfer who wants to play for a winner we might be a great fit. 4 returning starters. 2 seniors backing those positions up. All we need is a competent C to be just as good as this year.

Huger said in post game that we will play in a tourney even if we don't get picked for the NIT. More Bball.

Too bad, but that game was there tonight for the taking. Buffalo was a tired basketball team. Massinburg was nowhere near himself. Having played three games in three days had really done them in...especially the CMU game.

I know we played three games in three nights as well, but we play at a different pace than what they play at. We seemed to have the fresher legs. We had a four point lead with 8 minutes to go in the game. But just as all great teams do, Buffalo found another gear late and we couldn't stay with them.

I have been to the last four MAC Championship games we've played in. All losses...1980 and 1983 as a student...2002 and 2019 in Cleveland. Maybe I am the jinx?

Entertaining season and I enjoyed it. But, other than Buffalo, we are just as good as anybody in the league right now. Unfortunately, I think a strong coach would be the difference maker for us. I just don't see Huger as the guy that puts us over the top in a crowded and highly competitive field. Our offense basically amount to four guys watching a teammate try and go one-on-one. If he gets in trouble, they wait for a pass. Nice!

Plowden and Turner are nice pieces to build around and they should only get better.

I was in attendance last night and I was disappointed with the BG fans. We showed out but we were quiet where it sounded like a UB home game...We were winning in the second half and the UB fans were on their feet screaming while we were all sitting. I know not having a student section due to Spring break didn't help but I saw BG fans that were not expecting to win the game
