Possibly borne out by the tweet from bgsuhockey.com that just popped - berge spratt and schutte to Miami. No mention of Ty.
I would be shocked if Moose & Company haven't already been reaching out to a few possible candidates. We know he has had an on-going list of people he might want to interview if the job ever opened up; pretty much all AD's do this.
It would be a total shock to me if any folks with BG connections who are or have been in NHL positions might consider taking the job. I think the odds of someone like that coming "home" are pretty remote. There are a number of college coaching prospects out there with BGSU connections that could do this job and do it well. And I am pretty sure they have talked to (or will) Ty about his interest.
Look for things to move pretty quickly. They won't want to lose any momentum from the NCAA bid, including possible recruits.
As unlikely as it might seem, it's not unprecedented. Red Berenson is a primary example.
If Bylsma came back to BG his name recognition alone would attract top end recruits that we haven't seen here in decades.

Yeah, I'd be shocked. I've got to think the Red Wings pay very well.
There would be some risk here, too. Not all pro coaches can figure out college recruiting.
(Which is not to say BGFan is wrong in saying Bylsma would get the attention of top talent. Perhaps he would.)
Seriously, Miami? This is the best pic of Berge you could find???? He looks like the face I make whenever the name Miami or Rico comes up.... ....

Another name to possibly consider is Adam Krug at Adrian College. He's built that program into a D-III powerhouse. He's the brother of Bruins d-man Torey.

I'd say Ron Fogarty built Adrian into a D3 powerhouse. He's also a name to throw out there, was an assistant at BG for a few years. He's a good recruiter and has been doing okay at Princeton where its very tough to recruit to.
I was just informed by a player that BOTH Eigner AND Schutte are staying on as assistants, and that we are looking for someone to step in and keep this thing going. The department wants as much consistency as possible.

Spratt stay or go?
All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.

Staying at BG or staying on as assistants for Berge?

CHN said both Spratt and Schutte were probably going with Berge.
