Miami's schedule is announced: BG at Miami Oct 6; Miami at BG Dec 30
I thought the Ice Breaker (Oct 11-12) was supposed to be the first D-1 games of the season (?)

I thought the icebreaker was the start of the college hockey season as well...guess not.

We open the Icebreaker with RIT on Friday, then get the winner (or loser) of OSU/WMU. We will play the late game both nights.

Also, I've been told that Miami made their schedule announcement a bit early and that there's no guarantee that we will play them on those dates, if at all. The schedule is still definitely in flux, but we should know the entire thing within the next few weeks, as it has been released in the first week or so of May in the past few years.

I very much both love and hate the schedule. Great to see so many good games here on campus, but think about all the good games that students will miss because of the extended Christmas break and other holidays like Thanksgiving:

vs. Notre Dame (Thanksgiving)
vs. Miami (Christmas)
vs. Northern Michigan (Christmas)
vs. Northern Michigan (Christmas)
vs. Mankato (Christmas)
vs. Mankato (Christmas)

Those are essentially the biggest games of the year, and students are off campus for all of them.

Add to that two trips to Alaska, with one of the bye weeks being just before the first trip. Ideally, you want the be week to be directly after a trip to Alaska.

I'd also be surprised if an exhibition game is added. There really isn't a good place to add one.

I would view all those start times as tentative. Pretty sure Mankato is starting their home games at 6:07 local time on Saturdays (according to their thread on USCHO.)

Next Toledo Winterfest is late December 2020. There's a chance that BG might host Ohio State.
