He's my clear favorite to wear the C next year.

Smaller senior class next season - just Letourneau, Linkenheld, Dalton, and Rauhauser. Wouldn't be overly surprised to see Letourneau or a junior get an A, too.
Rauhauser is officially wearing the C, and Freddie/Ford are both wearing the A's.

Here are some 2018-2019 regular-season scoring statistics.

Code: Select all

WCHA Regular Season
Record when BG scores… Record when opp. scores…
Goals BG W L T G Opp W L T
  0 5 0 4 1 0 5 4 0 1
  1 1 0 1 0 1 7 7 0 0
  2 7 3 3 1 2 7 4 2 1
  3 8 6 0 2 3 6 1 3 2
  4 3 3 0 0 4 2 0 2 0
  5 1 1 0 0 5 1 0 1 0
  6 1 1 0 0 6 0 0 0 0
  7 1 1 0 0 7 0 0 0 0
  8 1 1 0 0 8 0 0 0 0
      28 16 8 4 28 16 8 4

"BG" and "Opp" are the numbers of times the teams scored that many goals.

Code: Select all

Record when
Scoring 3 or more: 15-0-2
Scoring 2 or fewer: 3-8-2
Allowing 2 or fewer: 15-2-2
Allowing 3 or more: 1-6-2
BG didn't necessarily have to score more goals last season to finish higher. Redistributing goals from high-margin wins to low-margin losses would have yielded more wins. As we know, two more points would have put the semifinals at home.

No surprise that "first one to 3 wins" holds true yet again...

I renewed my tickets today and was disappointed to learn that there is no longer an option to buy CC parking (I am not a Falcon Club member).

To get CC parking, I am now a Falcon Club member. Parking per game in the Slater lot is up to $10. 17 regular-season home games = $170, hence the minimum $120 Falcon Club membership.

We did the same.

This is a big one that finally became official tonight:

Michigan Tech forward Gavin Gould is transferring into BG. It's currently unclear whether he will be immediately eligible or not, but he appears to have one year of eligibility left.

33 goals and 31 assists over 3 seasons at Tech.

I nearly hated Gould. Maybe I like him now.

Probably would have been easier to just copy/paste my tweets, but you do you boo.

Hey, chill. Lol. My source was actually a text message from a buddy, and I googled his stats, but I also saw your tweet. I would attach the screenshot of the text, but it is apparently too big of a file for this site to handle.

For real though, all credit ever goes to the wonderful people at BGSUHockey.com. Go follow them at @BGSUHockeySite on social media, people.

Tongue was very much in cheek.

They’re working with the eligibility/compliance crew to figure out when he’d be eligible to play. He’s got two calendar years left to complete one eligible season.

Did he get a degree at tech? If not, this seems like a straight forward case of penalizing him with a year off. Tech might be able to grant his transfer request and waive the penalty, but I highly doubt they'd do that for a conference rival.

Tech guys seem to be mixed about Gould's departure/arrival at BG. Personally, I'd rather have him here than play against him. His stats were solid his first two years but there was a big dropoff last year -- clearly there were issues at Tech. The potential is definitely there if Eigs can work with him.

Solid pickup...always smart to bring in guys with a poor attitude and entitlement complex. Getting to 3rd place again this year is going to be tough. Hopefully he’s eligible right away to help shoulder the scoring load.

Good lord, there's no way you can be as ridiculously stupid as you sound, is there? You don't think the coaching staff did their due diligence before bringing him in? You're taking the word of Tech fans who might "think" they know what's going on inside their program, but in reality probably don't have a clue? We had a player here a few years ago who was pretty much in a "situation" as well. He transferred out and flourished at the school he ended up going to. You know who I'm talking about. We (and you) don't know the particulars of the situation, and probably never will. He's a young guy with one year left of eligibility and he thought highly enough of BG to see if he could come here. If it works out, great. If not, it's only one season, and in case you haven't checked, there's a few more great kids on this team (like all of them) who can carry the load. Get over yourself, you don't know three-quarters as much as you think you do. Man, your life must really suck to be this bitter all the time. Quit putting the program down. If you hate it that much, then move on, do something else, follow someone else....PLEASE!!
