Fall Practice

Post by Tony4BG »

Few weeks away but heard all players have to move to dorms for practice.

Is this something new or did Jinks do same?

Not sure, but this will make it easier for the coaching staff to get their eye on everyone. Feels like we're entering back into Clawson type territory regarding the culture and accountability which is a very good thing.

I would think having them all together like that is part of team building.

They Move In together July 28. Never heard of a team that didn’t do it, to be honest.

I agree with this. I know Ohio State always moved into a nearby hotel under Coach Meyer, and I assumed that wasn't a rare thing.

Great for team building. I'm excited to see this team getting to work.

Thanks. Figured was for team bonding but haven't really heard teams doing it before. Guess don't pay attention to practice too well.

It’s basically 3 full weeks in the camp dorm before they move into their personal dorm for the year; or, back to their off-campus house or apartment. Eat-train- meetings-film- sleep. Wild cards may be no phones? Planned fun nights, meals out, etc... these guys have been around the block-know when to put the hammer down or back off. Just need everyone in good health when they come out!

Still no update on McDonald's status. That has to present a challenge for the coaches. If he wins the starting position without eligibility update, coaches have to give Loy or Veasley, whoever is higher on the depth chart, as many starting reps as McDonald until the situation is resolved.

Split 1 reps between McDonald and Loy for now until BG hears about waiver.

If he gets waiver, they will continue to split until Loeffler names QB1.

If he doesn't get it, Loy is QB1.

They are indeed splitting the reps with those two. Have to think they are confident in waiver; otherwise Veasely would be getting the two reps, as he would be an injury away from starting.... and he is not ready.

Guess he definitely was not ready. He's in transfer portal.

So if Grant Loy goes down, are we just going to snap it to Andrew Clair and ask him to do his best?

Yikes.

There is no way they are going to go into season with one QB. Mcdonald waiver is likely, I have to assume... and more help has to be in works.

The team gave something back to the community by having some fun with people with development disabilities. Great stuff here ... https://twitter.com/pooleyjd/status/115 ... 01473?s=20
