McDonald Waiver
From what I gather, the pending announcement is the result of the appeal. He has already been denied.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.
Re: McDonald Waiver
Wow. Shows difference between Group and Power 5 schools.

Re: McDonald Waiver
There is no justification for letting Fields play right away at OSU or Martell at Miami and not McDonald at BGSU. I am not a particularly litigious person...but I would love to see the kids who were denied waivers band together to sue the NCAA as a class
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Re: McDonald Waiver
In my opinion, they had better reasons than most QB transfers.
Re: McDonald Waiver
Everyone under the sun knew that it was a total fraud that Fields and Martell were granted waivers so quickly. Seems like the NCAA has since decided to apply more scrutiny than none at all.

Re: McDonald Waiver
Word is no finding until game week...I would guess that would make him ineligible for week 1, even if he wins appeal.

Re: McDonald Waiver
Doege got his waiver approved so there will be all sorts of stench if McDonald doesn't get his approved.
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.
Re: McDonald Waiver
For good reason. I can't think of any argument where Doege should be approved over McDonald.jpfalcon09 wrote:Doege got his waiver approved so there will be all sorts of stench if McDonald doesn't get his approved.

Agreed. In fact, he had less reason to leave, being a successful young starter. He didn’t land where his brother did nor is he “back home”. McDonald is lawyered up good. I remain optimistic.drumstix2388 wrote:For good reason. And Doege stayed for spring practice.

Re: McDonald Waiver
McDonald's original lawyer who dealt with previous cases for NCAA football players is no longer representing anyone in the sport. Probably why this is taking longer.roguewarrior wrote:Agreed. Re: McDonald Waiver
I wish Doege all the luck and I hope he does well. I don't get how he got the waiver. I don't see the definition of hardship qualifying here barring circumstances out of our view. If Doege qualifies, then any player should get one penalty-free transfer.
I'm hoping he has a monster year at WVU. That is a QB friendly offense and he could put up some huge numbers.

Doege more than likely will redshirt but could play up to four games now

Re: McDonald Waiver
Apparently...the response filed by the team "losing" the player can have an impact. A couple of kids have accused Harbaugh of gumming up their requests by telling the NCAA a different version f events than the player. BC...IIRC...had another QB transfer to Rutgers and his waiver was initially denied. So..maybe they're playing games.

Re: McDonald Waiver
I believe the initial answer is always no. BC wont mess with us, in fact, probably the opposite. Loeffler left on good terms and hired the head coach’s son. Well played L.Flipper wrote:Apparently...the response filed by the team "losing" the player can have an impact.
