Morris catches another touchdown pass! A strike from Wade over the middle.

Needham nails the extra point and it's 23-0 BG.

This feels good.

Thing I love seeing:

8-12 play drives that go 70ish yards in 4 minutes or less. It's a thing of beauty.

Kholbe Coleman causes a sack fumble and BG recovers!

Long catch and run from Ortega-Jones leads to first and goal inside the 5.

Jones runs it in and it's 30-0! I'll limit the updates from here on out. Lol

Poor offensive possession leads to a punt, and the bad snap on the punt (and an illegal formation penalty) leads to Morgan State taking over on the BG 30.

Pass interference gives Morgan State the ball at the 15.

Rough stretch. Gotta respond.

Defense responds to the challenge and forces a 4th down, and they’re sending out the field goal team.

And it’s through. 30-3 Falcons, with 1:24 left. I’m interested in seeing how aggressive Loeffler will be here. Try to get 3 points or get off the field and go to halftime?

A good return and some nice runs lead us to choose going for it, and we’ve moved the ball. Some nice throws and a great scramble from Wade lead to an interesting situation. 7 seconds left in the half, with the ball on the 11 yard line, BG takes their 2nd timeout. I would have liked to see another one taken earlier, but I also understand that we didn’t seem to start this drive with the intention of getting a score - it was something that became too good to pass up, which led to some awkward clock management.

BG decides to run another play. We completed a pass short of the goal line, and Loeffler gets the timeout off with a second or two left on the clock.

Needham lines up for the kick, but a bad snap ends up in his hands and he throws an interception to close the half.

30-3 is our score.

Kicking game needs to find a new snapper. Other than that, hard to complain.

Won't draw many long term conclusions from this one but a breath of fresh air to see us doing what we should (and have been unable to the past 3 years).

Nice to see.

First half stats:

-Wade is 16/22 for 188 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also has run 3 times for 28 yards.
-Clair has run 13 times for 80 yards and a touchdown.
-Jones has run 9 times for 40 yards and a touchdown.
-Morris has 5 catches for 65 yards and two scores.

Team stat comparison:
First Downs - BG 19, Morgan State 2
Total Yards - BG 359, Morgan State 25
Rushing Yards - BG 171, Morgan State 7
Passing Yards - BG 188, Morgan State 18

4 penalties for 29 yards, one turnover (kicker INT, so not a big deal) and 4/7 on third downs.

Great first half. About as good as you could ask for.

Another “unconventional” three and out.

Punt is fair caught and BG will take over at their own 40.

My guess on that trick kick attempt late in the half is to give the new coach at Kansas State something to think about next week.
