BG beats Maryland 48-27. Roger Lewis just ate up current Steeler Sean Davis. It was not that long ago, but feels like forever.

I could barely speak for a few days after that one my voice was shot so bad. The church we attended at the time is right next to UMD and many of my friends there are UMD people. They ... were shellshocked after that game. And with all the UMD alums I have worked with through the years, there was a sudden new amazing respect for Bowling Green.

Still among my all time favorite BG experiences. Right there with the 2013 MAC championship.

I know Dino gets ripped apart on here, but that 2015 season was pretty special. BG decimated some opponents.

After the game, the team walked in front of the BG section to shake hands. My wife got a photo as Matt Johnson walked by after destroying the Maryland defense. And then Babers addressed the fans and thanked everyone for their support and said to return next week to the Doyt and pack the house for Memphis.

It was a really classy gesture. Especially since halftime was extended by an hour due to lightning.

That Memphis game was a great shootout last team with ball wins. Unfortunately we were on short end by 3. Take away Tennessee game that team should have been 13-1 or at least 12-2. Lost bowl game by three after all coaches had checked out.

I thought you meant it was over after three quarters. Which is pretty accurate. Everybody seemed to pack it up early second half, not that the first half was a particularly inspired effort.

We had some good games that year and put up points against bad defenses. It wasn’t some magical year. Maryland finished 3-9 that season, we dominated a terrible MAC East, lost to UT again, won the MAC Championship against NIU’s 4th string QB, and got our ass kicked in the Bowl game against a mediocre opponent. Our best win was probably against a not quite ready for prime time WMU team.

It was a magical year for Dino who got the wins he needed to jump ship.

Knapke had a ridiculous amount of attempts. I remember it was sunny but windy and cold. IU's defense made legit PI after PI on the last BGdrive.

I'll take all of that about now over the last 3 seasons. That 3-9 maryland team would beat the 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 BG teams by 40 or more.

You could have stopped with "won the MAC" and it still would have been a magical year.
I will take that as a successful season EVERY time.
