Re: @ Miami (10/6)
Got sloppy in our end which led to their 3rd. 3:06 left, SOGs are 39-16
2-time BGSU Intramural Curling Champion.
Re: @ Miami (10/6)
And of course, Miami gets one with the goalie pulled.
5-4 now. We're holding on by a thread.

Unlike last year - we responded.
Cameron Wright gets his 4th of the game. It's 6-4 with about 90 seconds left.

Re: @ Miami (10/6)
It was 2-1 BG after 2 periods, but a lot happened in the third.
FINAL:
Falcons 7, Redhawks 4
Glad we could score a touchdown and extra point on Coach Bergeron. Wishing him the best the rest of the way, besides December 30th.

Re: @ Miami (10/6)
4 goals against on 19 shots to a rebuild team... ouch. Let's hope that's just offseason rust. Good thing the offense was ready to go, and go they did!
Re: @ Miami (10/6)
There were 8 goals in the third period. I think some of it was more the flow of the game than anything else.Critical Thinker wrote:4 goals against on 19 shots to a rebuild team... ouch. Let's hope that's just offseason rust. Good thing the offense was ready to go, and go they did!
I trust that our defense/goal-tending this year will be more like the first two periods.

+1. Defensive breakdowns led to goals. Dop played well.Critical Thinker wrote:4 goals against on 19 shots to a rebuild team... ouch. Let's hope that's just offseason rust. Good thing the offense was ready to go, and go they did!

I also thought Alex Barber and Trevor St. John played well. And TJ Lloyd has some wheels.

Re: @ Miami (10/6)
Good win, I caught the first two periods and thought the team played well. Sounds like things got sloppy late, I'll chalk that up to rust and maybe some fatigue on both sides given it was the opener. Any time BG can beat a NCHC program in their barn though is a feather in the cap.
Classy during the handshake line for Berge and Barry to hug all the BG coaches and players. It'll be tough to root against Miami with him there.

*Team's RPI has been adjusted to remove negative effect from defeating weak opponent.
The PairWise Ranking is a system which attempts to mimic the method used by the NCAA Selection Committee to determine participants for the NCAA Division I men's hockey tournament. The PWR compares all teams by these criteria: record against common opponents, head-to-head competition, and the RPI.
For each comparison won, a team receives one point. The final PWR ranking is based on the number of points (comparisons) won. Ties are settled by the RPI.
A more complete explanation of the workings of the PWR is also available in our FAQ. There is also a FAQ available explaining the NCAA Tournament selection process.
The PWR can be reformatted and redistributed by any media outlet or person, provided USCHO's URL (https://www.uscho.com/" target="_blank) accompanies the results.
Note: A team's record is based only on games against other Division I hockey schools which are eligible for the NCAA Tournament.

Du hockey comme dans le temps!
Re: @ Miami (10/6)
Holding a team to 19 shots is good, but 4 goals on 19 shots isn't. For awhile, we had fewer goals than would be expected for the number of shots, but things turned around. The boys did well on faceoffs (60%), led by Johnson who was 16-7. Miami tended toward thuggish, as usual.
Good win!
