"Only twice have states gone to war with one another. One of them was Ohio and Michigan, where they had a boundary dispute over Toledo. That history doesn’t record who won the war, but we have to assume Michigan did, because nobody would fight to keep Toledo"
-- Lou Holtz, 2007
It appears Bowling Green is a 25 point underdog this week.
I think these Falcons will get scrappy and find a way to keep it closer.
Good Seeing ya Sat, John. I agree about this being closer than people think...esp if Loy starts. We need to keep their O off the field so our D doesn't get gassed.

My last year at Bowling Green as grad school was the plan, I took my GRE. The time I wanted to take it there was only one testing center available and it was on Bancroft Avenue. And this was a week or two before UT week.
So I showed up behind enemy lines wearing an orange BG polo and a BG hat. And of course I got some looks from their students as I showed up to the testing center in an academic building to register.
The GRE is a test where you get your score on the spot. I took my time and got a good score. On my way out, a UT student asked me how I did. "650 on the verbal, 800 on the math."
The secretary at the office stopped and asked me "you got an 800 on the math? I've never heard of a perfect score on any section of the GRE."
I tipped my hat and said, "that's because I go to Bowling Green."
Fast forward and I was accepted to Purdue, which is the #1 program in the nation for what I studied. To this day, everyone knows I am a Purdue Boilermaker, but first and foremost I am a Bowling Green Falcon.

Sadly, this will not be a game. Our beloved Falcons just don’t have the spirit to fight. The defense couldn’t stop a motorized wheelchair with a dead battery.

I don't think the issue here is spirit.
Nope. The issue is bodies. BG simply doesn't have enough of them -- let alone talented ones. I can honestly say I've never heard of a program that was down 17 scholarships from the limit, unless NCAA sanctions were involved. That shows just how strange this whole situation is -- and puts a rotten cherry on the Jinks years.
I would like to see BG surprise the world, and I'd be thrilled if they could keep it relatively close; but I'm expecting this to be one of the most lopsided scores in the history of the series.
Words can not adequately express how I feel about the AD who hired that coach and the coach himself. As a good Christian man, I was taught not to say those kinds of things (out loud) about another person.
It's also amazing that the same athletic director that hired Dave Clawson also hired Louis Orr and the same that hired Urban Meyer hired Gregg Brandon. They're no consistency. Most AD's aren't football experts, they're fundraisers. They don't know what they're doing when it comes to hiring coaches so they rely on consultants and their friends who don't know what they're doing either.
