WMU
Broncos are coming off a tough loss to EMU so I expect them to be rather surly in this one. BG has injuries galore at the skill positions and WMU's offense is the type that will give our defense fits all game long. I don't expect this one to be very close.
For those degenerates, BG is a 26-point dog.

This one will be tough. Just hoping we see continued effort as we enter the back end of the season, and I hope we escape this one with no major injuries.

I feel good about our chances with Akron, but I don't know if I see another game that jumps off the page otherwise.Siborg wrote:Yes, I see a similar or worse score than the CMU game. I hope for 1 and maybe 2 more wins this year.

Re: WMU
With the lack of depth and piling injuries, I'm not really concerned about the game results for the rest of the season. Toledo was the big one for me, and we nailed it. Next year is going to be tough, too, I think. As long as there is improvement in technique and performance, I'm good. Year 3, with two full recruiting classes in place, is where we'll start seeing a turn.mbenecke wrote:I feel good about our chances with Akron, but I don't know if I see another game that jumps off the page otherwise.Siborg wrote:Yes, I see a similar or worse score than the CMU game. Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

Re: WMU
I think we cover against WMU because we move the ball and possess it long enough to prevent WMU from making it a blowout. Offense improves some, 2 - 3 possession loss to a really good team.
For the rest, I think we beat Akron. And between Ohio, Miami, and Buffalo, there is a close win, a close loss, and a not close loss.

Re: WMU
It'll be close...depends how much clock BG can chew up. I think Western gets into the 40s, BG's ceiling against conference opponents has been 20 points. If you're a degenerate it's a good number to tease.Tony4BG wrote:Anyone believe BG can cover point spread?

I think so but that doesn't necessarily mean it is a close game with this kind of spread.Tony4BG wrote:Anyone believe BG can cover point spread?

Could be ugly weather with rain. I would think that would impact WMU more as they pass more than we do. Still their running game is plenty good if they have to rely on that.

Re: WMU
To build on that, I'd like our chances more (at least in terms of covering) if we had our full stable of running backs healthy. Without Jones and Clair, Denley is all we've got in terms of scholarship running backs - and had seemed to find a home in the slot over the last few weeks.MarkL wrote:Could be ugly weather with rain. It's incredible just how thin we are, simply in terms of bodies. We cannot afford an injury anywhere, period.

Re: WMU
We have split the last four games in Kalamazoo. What's crazy is those four games span five coaches ago.
2001: L (Urban Meyer was head coach)
2003: W (Gregg Brandon was head coach)
2011: L (Dave Clawson was head coach)
2015: W (Dino Babers was head coach)

Re: WMU
Jones and Clair out again. Denley will be the only scholarship RB dressed today. Biggers also missed the trip due to a family situation.
