Re: WMU
Bowling Green is doing a lot right, but they do not have a deep passing threat. Defense is making some plays, but they are on the field a lot.
Re: WMU
At halftime, the score is:
WMU 21, BGSU 3
Loy is 11/17 passing for 67 yards and an interception. As a team, we're running for 2.9 yards per carry - almost impossible to move the ball with just one scholarship back.

Re: WMU
Falcons are out of answers on defense. That's clear. 49-10 now near the end of the third.
Re: WMU
This team doesn't quit. I'll openly disagree with that.
We aren't deep enough to compete with a full roster, especially when we have so many injuries.

Re: WMU
Quit may have been an overreaction, but there was definitely a Jinks era feeling at the end of the 2nd and into the 3rd. Players were back to taking bad angles and missing tackles.
I know the program is short on bodies, it was disappointing to see the game get away from them in such a short period of time.

Re: WMU
I can agree with that. It went from down 14-3 and driving at the end of the half to make it a 4/8 point game to suddenly being down 21-3 at the half after a bad pick.jpfalcon09 wrote:Quit may have been an overreaction, but there was definitely a Jinks era feeling at the end of the 2nd and into the 3rd. Patience is tough, man. I feel that. But I do think we'll get back to the mountaintop with this staff.

Re: WMU
Western Michigan was the better team. I give Scot Loeffler a lot of credit for coming up with a game plan to keep this close at first. Eventually, the Broncos figured us out.
I really feel like we are in good hands here and this will get better when we get more bodies in here.
And I like our chances next week.

I caught most of the first half, audio only while mowing the lawn. Sounded like the team played hard but was out-talented. I missed the entire second half. Sounds like I didn't miss much. By the score it looks like the offense was totally ineffective as the game went on.

Just counting the days until Matt McDonald is eligible and we don't have to worry about red-shirting Clair...MarkL wrote:I caught most of the first half, audio only while mowing the lawn. Re: WMU
Saddest things relate to what Scot said about “complementary” play. If the offense had a bit more POP, the defense can be more aggressive, similar to the UT game. Giving up 14 pts in last 2.5 minutes of 1st half, then 14 more in 1st 3 min. Of 2nd half were killers to say the least. Fatigue? Too many true freshMen playing at once? Missed assignments overall as result? Just shows how little Depth we have. Feels a lot like Clawsons 2nd yr., but even less depth. 37 min TOP vs 23 min TOP says it all.
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)
Re: WMU
So I didn't get to actually watch the game, only got to listen to a half. Saturdays mean yardwork. How was the play of the lines? Did they get pushed around egregiously like in 2017 and 2018? How long did they hold up?
