Wanna buy a parking pass?
Wanna buy a parking pass?
Your money's no good here.
Seriously!?
Realized I forgot to add the parking pass to my season ticket order so before the exhibition tonight I went to the ticket window to buy one. I was flatly told that apparently you can't actually BUY a parking pass this year!?
Yeah that's right. The parking spots that sit 70% empty, and I'm there with my credit card trying to pay for a pass and was told no.
Apparently you must donate to the falcon club at least $120, and then they give you a pass with your season tickets.
The bgsu athletic department continues to amaze me. They make it total pain in the ass be a fan.

Re: Wanna buy a parking pass?
This has been discussed a couple times in the hockey board. They doubled the price of parking to $10 per game. The $50 pass was eliminated. If you make a majority of the games, joining the Falcon Club at the lowest level is still cheaper than paying to park every game. The moronic part is it simply over inflates the Falcon Club membership numbers.hammb wrote:Your money's no good here.

I'm surprised they aren't making season ticket holders join the Falcon Club just to be able to buy tickets. I still think that is coming, this is just a test to see how many season ticket holders will join for the parking benefit.

That’s the Kingston crew, still here 4 years later.
Re: Wanna buy a parking pass?
Before the opening football game we were told we had to provide a name and address to purchase tickets so an account can be registered. The terminal we were at somehow did not accept credit cards so the card was taken into a back room and finally emerged 10 minutes later with the tickets. If it wasn't the school and team I loved I would have walked away.
Re: Wanna buy a parking pass?
The ticket office is nearly incompetent.
They “forgot” to send my basketball season tickets out, so I went over and picked them up.
When “trying” to buy my season tickets This summer, I went online and tried but they said I didn’t have an account! I have had football and basketball season tickets for 20 PLUS years!
I could go on and on, but as I have mentioned before, Scott Bressler and Becky Meek did a MUCH better job, working with one or two students helping oeriodically and prior to them “trying” to computerize the operation.

I didn't think much of it at the time since I had to add a 3rd ticket this year anyhow, but I experienced the exact same thing with online renewal. I was told I didn't have an account despite being a hoops season ticket holder since Anderson, and have off/on had football tix as well. Ended up having to call to renew (and add the additional seat).
THe parking pass thing is absolutely asinine. We're not OSU where parking should be this super-duper privilege. I'm willing to pay, but you essentially doubled the cost of parking in one season by making me join the falcon club. THey still have $5 at basketball games, but only on the far side of Alumni drive. $10 for the lot by the Stroh, and even then you're only allowed in the outer, outer areas. To get to the slightly LESS outer areas requires the Falcon club membership.
This is all painfully asinine when the lots sit EFFING EMPTY.
It could make sense if it was actually a commodity...but it's not. It's the University just being dicks to be dicks. One of the great advantages when they built the Stroh was that they would actually have ample reasonable parking, but thanks to their stupid policies it sits mostly empty every game. We have sellouts and the parking close will STILL be empty, because only season ticket holders with high dollar donations to the FC are allowed there. It makes zero sense whatsoever.
Re: Wanna buy a parking pass?
I agree with that. I wish the people who attended games could actually park in the Stroh's parking lot. It has never made sense to me that it just sits empty while everyone is forced across the street. I understand that they're trying to make it a perk, but it's not working. To be honest, it's not more likely to make me a Falcon Club member -it's more likely to make me stay home and stream the game.

Factman nailed it. Scot Bressler and co did a great job running the ticket office. Automated and online ticketing is great but if you don’t have staff that know what they are doing, it’s worthless.hammb wrote:Eek...that sucks.factman wrote:The ticket office is nearly incompetent.![]()

As far as needing a Falcon Club membership to get a parking pass, I agree it’s ridiculous. I stopped donating 10 years ago when Christopher cut scholarships from a Baseball program that won 2 MAC Championships in a row. I figured if BG doesn’t care about winning, then no point in giving them my money.
Re: Wanna buy a parking pass?
Yep, this is what you get when you allow the Kingston crew to hang on while they apply & apply & apply for other jobs. Kingston caused the budget to be a disaster , hired a drunk ass slapper, and ruined the football program for 5 plus years. His crew is trying to piss off as many of the remaining as fans as possible before someone not named Kingston actually hires them.

Just about every time I have dealt with the window crew at Stroh I have been frustrated/angry; walking away thinking 'what a f'ing gd joke!!'

I stopped donating to the FC when they were organizing "Watch Party" events at BW3 in Perrysburg for HOME games. I told them how ridiculous that was when they should be organizing groups to actually ATTEND the game, not watch in some bar. I then had to re-start with a minimum donation to get my seats at the Stroh, but they removed that so I again quickly stopped donating.
Guess I'm going to have to donate again if I don't want to walk from BFE every game.

AGREE! It takes them 10 minutes to buy a GA ticket at an event!zete wrote:Just about every time I have dealt with the window crew at Stroh I have been frustrated/angry; walking away thinking 'what a f'ing gd joke!!'

Re: Wanna buy a parking pass?
I guess I'm the outlier. Hockey season tickets, FC donation, parking pass, and access to the lounge in the Slate which includes coaches talk on Friday. I call the ticket office when I want to exchange tix from one game to another and Dana in the ticket office takes good care of me. Only gripe is I have to go to Will Call to pick up the exchange; would prefer that this be online. But there's never a line at Will Call so it's not a big deal.
With that said, a watch party in Perrysburg for a home game is idiotic.

Re: Wanna buy a parking pass?
I did "alternative" parking. As in I used the First United Methodist lot and played Frogger getting across Wooster street for a couple of years. I wrote them a check for $100 and it made us both happy. Now, of course, you can use the light.

This is completely true and should be completely unacceptable. What systems and processes are in place that cause such delay?factman wrote:AGREE! Nearly as bad is the enormous stationary line of people waiting to get into football games while someone readjusts and contorts the ticket 5 different ways to get the barcode to scan.
