Fairmont State - Kids Day

Post by BillyLP »

Playing a morning game at the Stroh this morning in an arena full of kids. Out to a 12-4 lead at the first timeout. BG clearly outmatches them in all areas so this really shouldn't be close unless Fairmont St. gets really hot from deep.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

Up 45-30 at halftime but are playing pretty terribly. Horrible transition defense and several missed layups. It could and should easily be a score of 50-20.

This might be our best attendance of the year. What a smart event.

Toledo will likely outdraw it, but that's very true. The Stroh looks so nice when there are people in the seats.

Attendance was 3312, and BG gets the win 88-66.

Falcons move to 3-1, and they'll take on Western Kentucky next Friday night in the U.S. Virgin Islands at the Paradise Jam tournament.

When I first saw this on the schedule and saw the time and opponent, I expected to see the kind of croud you’d get for a scrimmage. I was wrong. I tip my hat to those responsible. It turned out to be a very good idea.

I like this kind of event, because it allows a school to build its following. Get students, of any age, in there however you can, and hope they become hooked.

If memory serves, haven't the women's basketball team done this with some success in the past?

It's a nice idea.

I believe Women have done This several times , with similar crowds. Great PR for the teams and the U.
Betting that a lot of kids will “bug” mom and dad to go back again.
