Re: 2020 Recruiting Class
Coach is doing what they can to get the team in early starting Jan 5 instead off the 25th, so they can get to work now, for that early period. Need to get cost and dorms lined up. That’s so kids don’t get soft in those extra 4 weeks, and put them behind. Doesn’t sound like someone who would volunteer to lose a scholarship player every spring, but I could be wrong.
Update; As of today, I believe it is official now. Back to work Jan 5.

Re: 2020 Recruiting Class
We just flipped Deshawn Jones from Cincinnati. He’s a 3-star DB, and he becomes the highest rated player in our class, according to 247.
His other offers were Cincinnati, Akron, Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, Kent State, Michigan, Indiana, Liberty, UMass, Penn State, Ohio, Minnesota, Rutgers, Toledo, and Western Michigan. Seems like a phenomenal recruiting win.
He’s the 4th highest rated commit in program history.

Huge get with some great offers. I'd guess that by the time he de-committed, DB was no longer a position of need at the Big10 schools, which is a big win for BG. BG's class now with 25 commits, according to 247. 2nd highest rated in the MAC and 66th in the country.Schadenfreude wrote:Very nice!mbenecke wrote:We just flipped Deshawn Jones from Cincinnati. Huge get, BG was in on him a year ago and kept in touch even after he committed to Cincy according to The Blade.

In addition, BG has 8 of the top 100 ranked Ohio recruits committed. That is mighty, mighty impressive.

Re: 2020 Recruiting Class
Didn’t flip...but still a good get, if he didn’t in trouble to lose his offer...from Rivals report
Jones chose Cincinnati shortly after taking his first official visit of the recruiting process with the Bearcats, citing his appreciation for head coach Luke Fickell and fit in the defense. That relationship persisted into the fall and Jones did not waver on his choice, but earlier this week he found out Cincinnati was not going to be able to sign him in this class. Jones had offers from nearly 20 schools, including six from Power Five Conferences, before committing to Cincinnati. With his recruitment now open, Jones will look to reignite some of those relationships he had prior to the Cincinnati commitment.

Just goes to show offers and even commits don’t mean much until you sign. I think offer yanked 10/23.

Rogue,
I may have missed this some time ago, but I’m assuming you have someone currently on the team. Is that correct?

Amazing results. How many 3-9 teams get 25 commits and a top class?!? Lots of Ohio and nearby flavor. Look at Akron’s commits.... almost all JC headaches. We are crawling out of the abyss!

Re: 2020 Recruiting Class
Jhaylin Embry from Sandalwood, FL committed last night as well. Speedster QB/WR who also runs track. Same high school as commit Jevonte Kinsey. Obviously someone from the previous 25 has dropped off the radar to open up another spot. Important to get back to that Florida speed.

Re: 2020 Recruiting Class
Is it possible one of the commits is a PWO, as well? I think it's more likely 1-2 drop off, because that always happens, but I can dream.jpfalcon09 wrote:Jhaylin Embry from Sandalwood, FL committed last night as well.
