Following the holiday break, our Falcons will take on Chris Bergeron's Miami Redhawks (4-10-3) on Monday, 12/30 at 7:37pm at the Slater Family Ice Arena. The game will be available to stream on FloHockey. You can also listen to Ryan Vallon on the radio call, or follow @BGFalconHockey on Twitter for updates throughout the game.
I understand that a Monday night game isn't the easiest to get to, and students are off campus, but if you have the ability to do so, PLEASE get to this game. It's coach's first time back at the Slate, and he and his program deserve to play in a true Madhouse on Mercer. Nothing but respect and appreciation for Coach Bergeron, but this is a game that we absolutely must win. We cannot let Miami come into our building and steal a game. Miami has lost 4 in a row, so they're going to be coming in hot and ready to fight for their coach. I anticipate this being a chippy game, as we beat them 7-4 in their building back in October.
Goaltender Match-Up:

Let's get it. Wear your orange and pack the place. Go Falcons!

Supposed to wear a tie in honor of Ty. I have 12 hockey-themed neckties. Decisions.

Yup, that’s a bad loss. Frustrating, annoying, disappointing - yet just one game.
Bounce back this weekend.

I thought Bowling Green was going to come back and tie it. They looked great toward the end. But they couldn't recover from that awful start.

Worst loss in terms of how Pairwise effects us to this point. BGs now on the outside looking in. 17th in the Pairwise, just 5 games ago we were 5th, possibly thinking a #1 or 2 seed. Now that margin for error we'd built up has been wiped away in basically two weekends. Something better change or have to hope to beat MSU in their building in order to get there, assuming we can get to the final. Frustrating. See you all Friday.....

Once again, a bad loss at home. I really, really do not understand this pattern, but it's been happening in BG hockey for years.

Maybe they should quit the smelling salts hits before the game.

Probably a direct correlation between the home losses and smelling salt hits before the game. Hopefully Eigner reads this.bgbill wrote:Maybe they should quit the smelling salts hits before the game.
Re: vs. Miami (12/30)
Most of the players take a sniff on the bench before the game. The idea is to increase focus, but if they continually under perform in the first minutes of the first period, what's the value?

I'm thinking there's other things to cut out before the smelling salts. This comes from someone who's been addicted to energy drinks for 15 years and has a job that is physically demanding at times.bgbill wrote:Maybe they should quit the smelling salts hits before the game.
