@ Akron (2/11)
Our Falcons (18-6, 9-2) have a pair of big ones on the road this week. To begin the trip, we take on the Akron Zips (17-6, 7-3) on Tuesday, February 11th at 7:00pm. This game will be available to stream on ESPN+.
We split the season series with them last year, but we haven't won at their place since March 1, 2009. That said, this is a huge opportunity for us to go on the road and grab a signature win. We're both among the top 4 seeds in the MAC at the moment, so it would be huge to grab a W to create some breathing room at the top. It will be interesting to see how this team continues to play in the absence of Dylan Frye. Huge opportunity, so we have to be locked in and go get it.
Let’s do it. Beat Akron. Go Falcons!

If we beat Akron, at Akron, I would label it the biggest win of the season thus far.

Meeting a few friends at the JAR, which has been a house of horrors for the last 18 years....3-15 there. Of course we've lost at home as well. 9-30 since 2000. The Zips have quietly gone 17-6, 7-3 MAC. They will be a challenge, as always, and Groce is doing a good job there.

Big one tonight. It's Tuesday, so I have class late. I'll be following along on the radio on my drive home and catch the last 10ish minutes.

Very interesting - Akron is doubling Juice. We'll see how that impacts our offense.

Anybody else having an issue with the feed breaking up? I read on Twitter from the BGSU IT department that the campus internet was crawling because there was a release of a new Xbox game today.
ROLL ALONG!!!

Big time doubling him this far. He's seeing teammates though.mbenecke wrote:Very interesting - Akron is doubling Juice. We'll see how that impacts our offense.
Zeigler made some nice plays as well.
Neither team is shooting well at all to start.

Re: @ Akron (2/11)
We look like a team that lost their starting point guard. Ball movement is off. Off the ball movement isn't there with guys just standing around. Team is confused on help defense.
Shows what Frye did beyond the scoreboard.

Re: @ Akron (2/11)
Still I thought Zeigler made some real nice passes. Laster and Turner did as well.
We had some wide open threes off ball movement for Diggs, Mattis, and Fields. Those guys shot 0fer with the only one going in after Diggs ran out of bounds.
I don't think we miss our starting PG nearly as much as we miss somebody who can actually got their shots.
If those role players cannot play their roles we will go nowhere. With Frye we had a 3 guys who could be counted on for points every night. Now we only have 2.

Re: @ Akron (2/11)
Fields are Laster are getting exposed for what they can't do, which is score from outside. They are no threat and Akron knows it which is why they can double down on Turner and live with it. Laster hasn't hit a single three all season and Fields is iffy at best to knock down a perimeter jumper and he's not a scorer to begin with. Diggs is MIA again from outside which only feeds into it. Someone is going to need to step up and score, even if it's collectively, We can't rely on just two guys.
GO BG!!!
Re: @ Akron (2/11)
Didn't love the 13-2 free throw discrepancy at the half... seems like BS to me.
We just aren't good enough offensively tonight. The defense has honestly played pretty solid, we just can't buy a bucket.

Got it within 4 and then went scoreless for almost 5 minutes. Too bad - we had seized the momentum.
BG down 59-50 with 5:02 left.

Unfortunately without Frye this team will only win games when the role players hit shots. All of them had plenty of opportunities and they were clunking brick after brick.
Specifically this game was over when Akron decided I'd they stop guarding Sierra he'll shoot. And on three straight possessions he went brick brick brick.
