Can't resist the temptation....
Maybe OSU thought Krebs was a "dim-bulb" too.
Anway, I am glad to see that. With the general opinion that Brandon will probably leave within 1-2years, keeping Krebs gives a sense of hope that the next coach hired will keep up with the current success.

SF: Wow, indeed.
I can't imagine how disappointed Krebs must be. By all accounts, this is his dream job and his resume really appeared to be the perfect fit. I can see him reacting in one of two ways - 1) He decides he needs to be the AD at a bigger school before he can get the OSU job and starts down that path (I hear Arizona State may be looking shortly); 2) He decides to make BG his life's work. I hope it's the latter but fear it's the former.

Ok, you guys might know more than me, but I don' t recall every seeing/hearing anything that said Krebs really wanted this job. If he did, I agree with you that he is probably very dissappointed. But maybe this isn't what he wanted, or maybe after talking, it was already decided very early that it wasn't a good fit. He may already have decided he wanted to do something bigger somewhere else. I am personally happy that he is here, for the sake of BGSU, and until I here otherwise from him or a close source, will put on my orange/brown colored classes and hope that he is still here because he wants to be.

If I were more ambitious, I'd track down the article, but I recall reading a piece where Krebs mentioned the job and, while he didn't say "It's my dream job, damn right I want it," it was clear he was intrigued by the possibility.PGY Tiercel wrote:Ok, you guys might know more than me, but I don' t recall every seeing/hearing anything that said Krebs really wanted this job. Nonetheless, the BG athletic department is stronger because Krebs is, for the time being, staying put.
Dayon: I think if Notre Dame had approached Urban earlier - and dropped it's arrogant attitude, he'd be in South Bend this year.

I completely agree. The glare from the golden dome affected their athletic director's head and they thought Urbie would come to the mecca for peanuts and a new black polo shirt with an ND on it. . . ND really dropped the ball and looked like asses for the second coaching change in a row.1987alum wrote:Dayon: I think if Notre Dame had approached Urban earlier - and dropped it's arrogant attitude, he'd be in South Bend this year.

I don't think this was Krebs' dream job at all. While many would say it was a strength for him that he knew the workings of the department at OSU I would say that is exactly why he would not want the job. Ge knows the politics and all the problems getting things done. I would not want to go into a situation where boosters weredoing everything they could to mess with sports programs. If he leaves, it will be to a clean program.

Sounds good to me! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Paul Krebs is the BEST AD BG has had in many years. He has accomplished so much with much yet to do.
If he really wanted the job, I feel badly for him that he didn't get it. But I am elated he is still the BG AD.
GO BG!~

My friend Mark, huge ND football fan, says ND low balled Meyer on their offer. Hence, Urbie went to Gainesville.Dayons_Den wrote:I completely agree.
