vs. Ferris State (2/21-22)
Following a 3-point weekend in Alaska, our Falcons (15-13-4) will return home to face the Ferris State Bulldogs (7-22-2). Both games will begin at 7:07pm EST and will be available to stream on FloHockey. You can also listen to Ryan Vallon on the radio call, or follow @BGFalconHockey on Twitter for updates throughout the game.
Saturday night’s game will be a celebration of the 50th anniversary of our Falcon hockey program. To celebrate, there are many festivities that will be announced throughout the week, such as throwback uniforms, among other items.

Re: vs. Ferris State (2/21-22)
It was previously announced that the plans for the ice arena expansion would be unveiled after Saturday's game, but I haven't seen anything posted about that this week. Perhaps those plans have changed?
I had also read rumors of throwback jerseys, but there has yet to be anything official about that announced, too.

I thought I got an email from the Falcon Club about the throwbacks but can’t find it.

Re: vs. Ferris State (2/21-22)
The athletic department just now put out word that there will be throwback uniforms, which were displayed in a quick video on Twitter and Instagram. They look very vintage. I’m curious what buckets we plan to wear with them.
Very excited for the festivities this weekend!

Re: vs. Ferris State (2/21-22)
I just keep thinking about it - there's a ton on the line this weekend. We essentially need 6. Technically, 5 will still work. Or less than that, if you really wanna crunch the numbers and pray for help from other results.
But realistically, this weekend will make or break our shot at home ice. Winning out won't even do it for us - we need Anchorage to take a point from Fairbanks next weekend. A loss this weekend would essentially devastate our hopes for a home playoff series.
PlayoffStatus.com gives us a 37% chance at the 4-seed at the moment. That number jumps to 51% with a Ferris sweep.
The key in the numbers is the difference between winning out (4 in a row) and only taking 3 of the 4. Winning all 4 gives us a 74% chance at the 4, and actually a 19% chance at the 3. Dropping just 1 game? Only 23% chance at home ice, period.

Well, that was fun. Lol. Falcons win, 6-1!
BG moves to 1 point back of 5th, 3 points back of 4th, and 4 points back of 3rd.
With a win tomorrow night, we’ll pass Tech and be tied with Alaska for 4th, and we might be just 1 point back of 3rd entering the final weekend of the regular season.
We shall see.

Re: vs. Ferris State (2/21-22)
"Fun" against a bad hockey team. I don't know if it was just last night or what, but Ferris wasn't any good and BG capitalized. 5 minutes into the second period and BG had scored on roughly half their shots, then went into cruise control to make sure it didn't get ugly. Before that, there were WAY too many chances given up that should have found the back of the BG net. It was sloppy in the defensive zone most of the game. If it weren't for poor shooting and passing by Ferris, and Dop being there, Ferris would have ran away with that game.mbenecke wrote:Well, that was fun. Lol. Falcons win, 6-1!

Never mind. I found the link and know the play.

Typical WCHA incompetent officiating. Happened at arm's length from an official without being called. Supposedly deserves a suspension, yet rejoining a skirmish after being separated out still goes unpunished.

Giving up a goal in the last two minutes--again--was a failure.pdt1081 wrote:"Fun" against a bad hockey team. Re: vs. Ferris State (2/21-22)
For sure. How awful are we, holding a shutout for 58 minutes and only winning by 5?
Come on, people.

Re: vs. Ferris State (2/21-22)
How many 2 on 0s were there in front of the BG net with the puck on a Ferris stick? Ferris was awful last night. That performance would have been a loss against pretty much every other team in the league.mbenecke wrote:For sure. How awful are we, holding a shutout for 58 minutes and only winning by 5?

And yet, it wasn’t. We can get mad about hypotheticals all we want, but we’re going to take 5-goal wins every day of the week.
