I don't ever have a good feeling when we play Akron. And they already boatraced us once.

We can never beat that freaking team...until we run off a couple years of being competitive/winning against them, I'll always enter games against the Zips expecting us to lose.

They've got some real good backcourt scorers, and Groce is one of the best MAC coaches in the past 15 years. We've got our work cut out, for sure.

I feel the same way. It doesn’t matter the year, players, coaches or arena, when you’ve lost to a team 29 out of 32 times, how can you expect anything different. Tonight’s a huge game and you know for a fact that Akron will be prepared and will give itself a chance to win. That’s always the case when BG and Akron meet. The question always boils down to, will BG rise to Akron’s level and do the same. Well, 91% of the time, then answer has been no. Does that change tonight, on our home floor, or does Akron extend BG’s misery to 30 of the last 34?
GO BG!!!

15 point lead at half. I don't feel good about this at all.

Now that’s the way you come out and start a game and play a half! FINALLY!!! Now don’t blow this lead and do the same in the second half and run these guys outta here!

Every shot Plowden takes is out of rhythm. You know he's gonna miss b4 it leaves his hand.

Plowden with 9 boards and 9 shots at the half - talk about aggressive!

Mattos with 7 boards.

Tons of players who have hit at least 1 shot each.

Juice in the flow with 12 points on 5 shots.

And I gotta tell you, Frye's shooting % in 1.5 games off the bench are a lot prettier than they were as a starter.

20 more minutes guys.

BG led by 15 at the half and by 21 at one point. Akron was cutting it down, but some triples fell and BG is back up 20 with 8:08 left in the 2nd half. Gotta close.

Falcons win, 78-60! That was our best win of the year, and we did it handily.

We're in the driver's seat, folks. With that win, we've punched our ticket straight to Cleveland.

When they are aggressive and hustle they are very hard to beat. What a game.

Heard part of the game early on, listening to Akron team moaning that AU couldn’t hit their “ wide open” 3s. Was this accurate? Obviously they only hit 5 for whole game, just hard to believe we weren’t contesting 3s.
Unfortunately, had company stop by and an early birthday call from my Virginia son so could only follow the in game print report.

I was white knuckling it the whole time. Didn't matter what our lead was.

Can I just say something??? Those Akron Zips are the whiniest bunch pussies I've ever seen on a D1 basketball court.

Another question... were there THREE T fouls called? In progress game track seemed locked at around 3:37 or so for a LONG time, with lots of shots, fouls , rebounds etc all showing at same time.

Yep. I think Cheese got both of theirs. Ziegler ended up with ours.
