BG vs Ohio

Post by BillyLP »

The BG Women pulled off a gutsy win last night at the Stroh. This was one of the only games I’ve been able to watch this season and I was really impressed with Parker and Trice, in particular. Trice is going to be a big time playmaker here in her time, and Parker has one of the best shots since Prochaska. Our PG play was questionable, at best, and almost cost the game with some sloppy turnovers. Also, the officiating was just absolutely hammering BG with phantom calls and no-calls on Ohio. They did a great job of keeping their heads in the fourth quarter and stretching the lead.

Please don't compare Prochaska to Parker. Lauren was the one who defended the opponents toughest player and knew how to follow her shot. I haven't seen that from Parker.

Talking strictly about her shot. She's about to break Lauren's record for most 3PTs in a season. Comparison is warranted.

Comparisons between players on a blog are not wrong because blogs are used for information and opinions. Opinions are just that.......opinions, which could be right, wrong, or indifferent. I express my opinions frequently here about the Falcons’ play, and it’s perfectly okay if other readers disagree. However, I’m not going to tell anyone not to make comparisons between players, whether I believe they’re right or not. In my own opinion, Parker and Prochaska are/were different types of players. Parker is a post-up three point shooter, and Prochaska was a multi-dimensional scorer who had the height and maneuverability to score inside and out, and do it well. Who do I feel is/was the better basketball player? Prochaska, easily, hands down. Granted, Parker is an awesome shooter, but she’s one-dimensional. Prochaska was a great basketball player in so many more categories than Parker. I’m thrilled for Madisen for her accomplishments this season with her shooting prowess, and if she does break Lauren’s record, then she’s earned it.
Congrats to the Falcons for their awesome win against the Bobcats. Also, congrats to Olivia Trice for coming off the bench to score 17 points. Look for her to start getting more minutes, as I can see she’s not passive as she’s been all season long......obviously a shot in the arm for her confidence level. Keep rolling along, Falcons!

Yes, I don't disagree with anything you said. As I mentioned, strictly talking about Parker's shot. Prochaska was on a different level, and was legitimately one of the best players in the country while here.
