Re: Spring Practice
There are 16 more players on the 2020 spring roster than were on the 2019 spring roster. We could hardly practice last year at times and the spring game was almost a walk through. Now we can do more, practice harder, etc Vs last year. This springs reps will be more productive and meaningful than last year.... hopefully translating to greater success in season.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.
Re: Spring Practice
First practice post interview. Last year the quote that defined spring practice was the players "lined up better", and that was a huge difference. It demonstrated just how sad of state the program was in and how poorly the players had been coached.
In year two, the quote that already stands out is that coaches don't have to yell about effort but instead get to coach.

Re: Spring Practice
When you look back at the results last year -- and see where the program is at this moment, it is a bit mind boggling to realize that one bad coaching hire devastated this program so much. I know, Babers didn't help matters with how he managed things during his cup of coffee on campus, but most of the damage was done because of Jinks. It's even more amazing they beat Toledo (a win I will treasure for a long, long time.)

So much for getting caught up and ahead.... practices suspended by the MAC.

Re: Spring Practice
Yup. This sucks, because Spring ball is huge in the development of young guys. I feel bad for Loeffler and the players, not getting this opportunity to get better. Perhaps they add some practices to fall camp to make up for it?roguewarrior wrote:So much for getting caught up and ahead.... practices suspended by the MAC.

Tentative to resume practice April 5. Everything is fluid.

I'd be surprised if they resume by then. My office is closed through April 30 and we've been told that could be extended.roguewarrior wrote:Tentative to resume practice April 5. Everything is fluid.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

Re: Spring Practice
Suspended is the term. New date shooting for is May 9th I think they said.... but very fluid. I suspect it could turn into an extended Fall camp? With gyms closed, a lot of players will lose a lot of gain, while out. Sucks. The MAC will dictate protocol once we return to normalcy. At least it sucks for everyone, not just BG. Too bad we couldn’t spread the Jinks virus to the MAC! HaTony4BG wrote:Spring practices have been canceled, correct?roguewarrior wrote:Tentative to resume practice April 5. Everything is fluid.
