Go to page 10. Old timers may remember many of these guys and it’s interesting to see BG playing Houston while sitting at 9-4 and in first place in conference play. Also fun to see BG beat a team led by Otis Birdsong.

Now that's a blast from the past. Hard to believe, but I most remember the 4-20 first year of Pat Haley, Monk drinking at the Brathaus, Kampe's football and basketball playing, and, of course Skip Howard, Jun Cash, and the 7 footer Cartwright.

We had some huge crowds at AA.

I recall the infamous “knife in the body” steal by Bob Conroy from Montgomery that lead to a UT victory under Wienert. Anderson was jammed. Surprised it could hold 5,000+.

I think the score on the UT game was 55-52. We had two players who were limited as they were involved in an apartment fire that burned their hands.

Whoever had his pocket picked showed the red marks from the "steal" but the officials didn't do anything.

That was Montgomery. He was complaining before Larsen made the layup to seal it. Awfully exciting game.

There were many times 8 thousand fans would have attended BG games at Memorial Hall, with the Houston game being one of them......Thus, we built a smaller arena with the realization BG basketball would never achieve the popularity it once had?

The Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio, brought in its largest crowd on February 28, 1970, when 14,102 fans were in attendance to watch the Bobcats men’s basketball team defeat the Bowling Green Falcons 77–76, an attendance record that remains the largest gathering ever to view a Mid-American Conference regular season game.
